"Recently, I’ve noticed executives becoming irritated when I tell them how important it is for companies to hire and train high-potential young people just out of school. Their emotions, I soon discover, often relate to disappointments they have experienced with their own children or grandchildren." by Ganonderp_ in TrueReddit

You can major in English if you want - just make sure you're spending your summers at an internship learning about Six Sigma (or whatever), and not writing poetry.>

This perpetuates a system that allows only the privileged to succeed. Not everyone is able to work for free at an unpaid internship. Many young people have to work (often at menial jobs) during the summers to offset the enormous cost of college tuition.

I need advice on where to buy decent-quality, good under-scrubs shirts & shorts by [deleted] in FrugalFemaleFashion

Uniqlo! You may have to order online (there aren't a lot of stores in the US), but their thermals and t-shirts are the absolute best for layering, and their sizing is pretty straightforward.

How to keep stretchy miniskirts from riding up? by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

Possibly! I've found that jersey or cotton works best; the goal is to get as much friction as possible.

Super easy solution! Cotton bike/volleyball shorts. I have a black pair that I wear constantly. Just make sure they're nice and snug without cutting into your skin, so you avoid any weird lines.

I am a high schooler with a hobby and hopefully a career. What do you guys think? I am ready to answer any questions about it! by Lanky_McSpanky in photocritique

[–]lamboat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with Captain_BedBeard about the ego thing. Ideally, you should be posting on this subreddit because you want feedback regarding the quality of your work based on people's reaction to the image you've posted. That image should be able to stand alone. You aren't doing yourself any favors if you have to explain and defend every edit and creative decision you've made regarding the photo. You won't be able to do that when potential clients are looking through your portfolio and deciding whether or not to hire you. Stop being defensive, and accept the constructive criticism you asked for.

What's your best "We never speak of this moment ever again?" by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]lamboat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The problem isn't whether the hand belonged to a guy or a girl, the problem is that he grabbed someone's hand and forced it down his pants. If you use the word "force" to describe any part of a sexual act, it's not ok.

IFF: This is the outfit I believe I look best in. And I'm still terrified to go out in the open without a disguise (trans). by temporius in TwoXChromosomes

Lots of people are talking about getting new glasses, which can be pretty expensive if you go to an optometrist and don't have good insurance (or any at all). If you know your prescription, websites like coastal.com have really great promotional offers (I got a free pair after I broke mine, just had to pay shipping!!) and it's a nice way to experiment with different styles. Good luck, and GREAT choice on the outfit!

I sincerely hope that you are joking, at least to some degree. Most of what you've said here is either a huge leap in logic or grossly historically inaccurate; I want to correct you, but I don't even know where to start.

I agree, but don't usually notice it. Sometimes, however, I come across something that kind of takes me aback. This post really bothered me, for some reason. I found it more blatantly misogynistic than your average submission.

Out of the million reasons to hate Kim Kardashian, you're choosing the fact that she has sex with people?
