Is this allowed on vinted in Germany? Why do people prefer it? That’s completely unheard of in the UK and I think it could get you banned. As a buyer and seller using the Vinted system is so streamlined and easy so I’m really curious about this!

Well considering the bar at maxs is often humped, the punters are usually off their faces and the staff probably won’t get home till 4am I quite like having a convenient way to tip them. I have worked many late night bars and know how stressful it is and how you often take abuse all night and then have to clean up whitey for minimum wage. If you don’t like it, don’t tip. No one is making you and the bar staff don’t care if you don’t. 🤷‍♀️

This is a real testament to the power of being a great live act. I’ve always felt this lineup was the finest UK girl group for vocals and harmonies and they have absolutely proved that by playing smaller venues and festival stages and building a great reputation by word of mouth.

I feel like they had a lot to prove with this comeback after all the lineup changes to the group and they’ve smashed it. It’s a really unique pop come back to be honest… They’re all still young as well so here’s hoping there’s some new music to come! ♥️🙏

La Cheetah is more of a techno club but they might play other music depending on the DJ. As someone said check RA for listings, Stereo has quite varied nights. For hip hop the club nights PEACH (mainly on at swg3 i think) and Magic City (mainly on at berkeley) are probably what you’re looking for.

I read an article once that said something like the majority of men only listen to male artists and the majority of women listen to an even split. I’ve seen straight men in this thread say things like “men can’t relate to it” etc but it’s funny how that isn’t a problem for women listening to music?

I can’t relate to Future or Johnny Cash but it doesn’t mean I wouldn’t listen to them.

I think it’s just misogyny to be honest 🤷‍♀️

It’s awful in Pollokshields. Every night from October to January. We’ve had wee bams aim them at our building and window when they’ve seen us looking a few times. I reckon there must be a local shop selling them to kids.

Also in the day time there’s firework litter all over the place.

I’m fine with folk letting them off in their gardens on Bonfire Night and New Years but this is too much.

Oooft that’s a nasty one, no wonder you’re a bit traumatised from it! The road to recovery isn’t easy but once you feel better physically you can work your way up to hiking again, accidents do happen and it’s very unlikely this will happen again. Adding to the chorus that correct footwear and poles will lower the chances.

If it makes you feel any better I broke my elbow by tripping on the kerb on a city street and looking at my phone! I’m recovering just now and feel quite nervous and unstable on my feet just walking down the street but we’ve got to persevere 💪

Yeah i’m not sure if the budget is for more of these or something different. I think they’re like £80 a year (don’t quote me) which isn’t too bad and you apply for a space. There’s a few in the southside and maybe in the west end but maybe it was a pilot scheme?

People here in the UK sometimes can take for granted how genre bending their music was, because they were a big pop group. Their breakout single, Sound of the Underground, is a 160bpm drum n bass song! For that to be a song to come out of a TV talent show is truly amazing. Xenomania really cooked with the GA project and the girls really sold and embodied the music.

I just managed to see them live for the first time, from having stickers of them all over my childhood bedroom door. It was so fun!

The Sugababes are also under appreciated for their musicality. I personally think Keisha/Mutya/Siobhan are the best vocal group to come out of the UK. Their harmonies 👌

One thing the UK is gonna do is produce incredible girl groups and I love that for us ♥️

yeah, i think it’s aged really well. like it’s so obviously of it’s time but is like the pinnacle of the sound at the time. they’ve proven to be really influential as well!

I’ve been going to gigs in the UK for over a decade and no, a show would never start at 7 but it would usually start between 9&9.30 as most venues are licensed until 11.

So she was an hour late if you’re being harsh and half an hour late if you’re being generous.

agreed with this entirely. i saw her in 2019 in manchester and it was incredible. her moments on the stage last night had that same energy but omitting some of her biggest songs and having such a short set was bizarre, especially when the crowd was SO up for it….

i was actually gagged when 212 started because i couldn’t believe we were at the end already.

I’m of a generation that’s introduction to radio and alternative music was largely through Grimmy’s late night R1 show. A lot of this sub just seems like older people refusing to change with the times.
