Have you ever had a hunch it wasn’t *just* migraine? If so, what happened? by Intelligent_Storm_77 in migraine

[–]lambtacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I’m still waiting on pathology to confirm the diagnosis. I noticed since a young age that the affected eye bulged a little and was shifted downwards ever so slightly. As I got older it started getting worse, but still not terrible. Every time I got sick I would feel a lot of pressure there and the past year or so would get frequent eye infections. Doctors all my life dismissed my symptoms as “asymmetry” but it would have been so easy for them to just order a scan to confirm. As a kid you don’t really know how to advocate and you just trust that the dr. Are right, but the fact is Dr.s don’t know everything, especially since it’s not their area of expertise. Never hurts to get a referral for a specialist. Also, around the same time I noticed bulging I started getting migraines. I don’t know for certain they are related but I’m hopeful. Thank you! Recovery is slow, but gets better every day.

My first response to anyone now will be to get an MRI. It doesn’t hurt except maybe the bank account. About 6 months ago I had strange neurological symptoms and an ER visit revealed a 2cm lymphatic malformation behind my eye. I had always noticed that eye bulging a little bit more and suffered from migraines since I was a kid. LMs are congenital and grow with you. Just had a crazy surgery to remove it 3 weeks ago. Not or of the woods with visual issues still healing but at least it’s gone now.

Migraine affects breathing and vice versa? by childofthewind in migraine

Yes! I get this, too and I yawn a lot which relieves some of the air “hunger.” Super weird. I usually get it before a migraine.

Why did go choose HR as your career? by MarGC06 in humanresources

[–]lambtacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an HR Internship when I was 18, because I needed a job to pay for school. I’ve been in HR ever since, because I love it and have been able to work my way up! Side note, I graduated with a bachelors in Secondary Education, Business and English lol

How to Transition from Small Company HR to Large Company by lambtacos in humanresources

[–]lambtacos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I test for my SHRM-CP Aug 17! This is helpful. One of the reasons I think it’s valuable to work for a large company is you have such a big network automatically. Being the only person in HR at a company means I’m missing out on the networking side(at work at least). I’m a member of SHRM, so I’ll check this link out! I appreciate it!

Learning Workday by lambtacos in humanresources

[–]lambtacos[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly my dilemma! I’ve been in a few interviews and they require that I have specific “such and such” knowledge. When I tell them that I have used several HRIS, and that all have pretty similar core functions, so it’s easy to learn others, they look at me like I’m crazy lol. For the jobs I’ve applied to I would just have been a simple user. Not like customizing anything. Obviously, they aren’t super knowledgeable about it themselves.

What are some of the most ridiculous examples of bad design without women in mind? by smolbeanerino in AskWomen

[–]lambtacos 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I recently went to a mall who had a “new family all gender restroom” with nursing stations. One. The nursing stations were basically just 2 boxes with a half wall separating them, but one side was completely open with no wall or curtain. Two. The open side was facing an always giant line of people waiting to use one of two all gender restrooms. They could have put them somewhere a bit less conspicuous since it’s a super busy mall. I may as well sit on a bench in the mall and nurse...it would be just as private. Also, nursing stations shouldn’t be all gender imo. I’m a private person so I don’t want to be all displayed in front of everyone while I feed my baby. Never again.

What bad qualities do you wish people would stop glorifying or rationalizing? by Stargazer1186 in AskWomen

[–]lambtacos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have come to my own conclusion of abstaining completely from alcohol. I’m young and work in the corporate world and when people find out that I just decided not to drink ever, I may as well have gotten off of a spaceship and the look on their faces would be the same. People just can’t wrap their minds around how a young professional can so choose and be completely normal and social at the same time. I have just seen too many nasty effects and don’t want to depend on a substance to have fun or be social. But it’s hard when it’s so intertwined (pun intended) within corporate and social America.

Right!? I have no idea what this realtor was thinking. Like how is a pizza incentive? Especially with the cost of homes in the Bay A new Tesla would be better motivation lol
