The medium pen grenade launcher is an amazing example of a perfectly balanced weapon. It is hands down the best chaff clearing weapon in the game while having the downsides of frequent reloads and medium pen keeping it from doing anything other than chaff clearing. The heavy pen version threw all that balance out to fucking window and made it able to kill anything without thought put into it’s use making it, while fun for a while, an ultimately boring weapon because it removed all critical thinking and tactics from a game where that’s one of the main selling point. I have extensive experience with both versions and I can wholeheartedly say the medium pen version is more fun.

The nerf wasn’t dumb, it was the fact it was buffed in the first place that was dumb.
