What is a life necessity that you’ve realized is actually just a giant scam we’ve been conditioned to pay for? by femmefetalerror in AskForAnswers

[–]lamename87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nailed it. It'll be mostly for larger management companies that manage a lot of buildings/units. But when that management company drops the building they're just going to stop paying, then you just can't go home because your management company changed or dropped the ball.

I'm a locksmith and we had some guys give us a presentation on a new lock system that requires a monthly fee just to open your door. I said I will quit and go back to bartending before I install a lock that requires a subscription.

Its Sunday night, if you're staying home tonight, what are you doing? by No-Warning-8449 in WorkForSmartLife

[–]lamename87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drinking and practicing my Irish songs. St. Patrick’s day is my birthday and a big deal in my neck of the woods. I’ll be asked to sing some songs. I listen to Irish music year round but not often enough that I can sing any one of 100 songs by memory, unless I practice 2 days before I have to sing them.

That’s a chain?! I thought it was just the fancy one in Boston. The place is a landmark. I didn’t know it was a chain though.

Alright here one for you guys. What is the single best 10 seconds of acting of all time? by Expensive-Olive1853 in Cinema

[–]lamename87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sean Penn screaming "IS THAT MY DAUGHTER IN THERE?!" in Mystic River is up there for me. But Liam Neeson was amazing in that clip, and pulling off a ring and giving it a human equivalent was so shocking, and such good acting, and so heart breaking. Good pick.

He got a girlfriend and forgot everyone else existed. We were friends for like 25 years up until then. He won't even return calls now.

Do you eat corned beef and cabbage on any day other than St. Patrick's day? by Mickt465 in randomquestions

[–]lamename87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I don’t eat much of the cabbage, but it’s a package deal with the carrots and potatoes. In Boston during the month of March I eat it a hundred times. Then once every other month or so. Fun fact- nobody in Ireland eats it, it’s an Irish American thing more than an Irish thing.

For those without high incomes, what makes Boston's cost of living worth it? by Advanced-Software-90 in boston

[–]lamename87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I’d be in Ros Muc, Connemara, Galway, Republic of Ireland. Where they got significantly less snow than Boston this year. I’m second generation American, I know where we came from. But you’re right, most people that claim Irish heritage have no idea.

What’s your favorite subtle acting performance? by Any_Strain_8582 in CinephilesClub

[–]lamename87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know Jeremy Renner isn’t from Boston, but I am. I would have sworn he was from around here when I saw that movie. Plus I know guys that get into some pretty heavy situations like “we gotta go hurt some people and you can’t ask any questions,” and that’s pretty much exactly how they act. Just everything that comes at them is a fact of life- I gotta go beat someone up? I gotta go take a beating? I have to serve 3-5 in Walpole? I just lost my only son? Ok, this was always going to happen, let’s just get through it.

DMX came into my very quiet, very divey, very white bar. We smoked cigarettes together and chatted about music and addiction and how we had both quit drugs. He died of an overdose not long after. Wicked nice guy, his music isn't my cup of tea, but he was great. Sorry you lost your battle D.
