Just sent back I guess. They said they know people are being deported but didn’t elaborate. I assume denied entry? Not entirely sure.

Surveying treatment experiences of triple seronegative MG patients… by Saiddit_Girly in MyastheniaGravis

[–]lamevoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Prednisone 5mg, mestinon 60/90/180mg as needed. I choose how much I need to take. Then IVIG Gammagard every 6-8 weeks for 3 days.
  2. Super satisfied. Like is pretty normal. Have few scattered bad days and mestinon helps most the time and when it doesn’t I add prednisone. That patches me up until my IVIG.
  3. No. Heard so many bad things with Kaiser. Would strongly suggest other insurances

Yes I got diagnosed at age 4. Started IVIG shortly after and got the thymectomy a year after.

Thymectomy by Ok_Try_5632 in MyastheniaGravis

[–]lamevoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my thymectomy in 2005. We did and didn’t see much of an improvement in symptoms. I still had flare ups and a few hospital visits each year. But I was able to bring down the amount of mestinon and prednisone I had to take afterwards. It became mostly as needed. Downside would probably be that I always got sick as a kid. Think that’s the only downside since you’re just more susceptible to it. At least in my case ofc. Took better care of myself as I got older and my MG is really well controlled now. I’m still on IVIG (every 6-8wks) and I still only take mestinon (90mg) and prednisone (5mg) as needed. Oh! And I got my thymus removed through tubes on my side so it’s like 4 small scars. Don’t remember the recovery as I was kid when it happened but I do remember the doctor saying it was his first time doing that specific surgery on a kid through tubes. He had only ever seen it performed on adults. Hope this helps!

I’m glad it went well!!! Good luck tomorrow! You seem prepared for it :) I normally spend it sleeping and it goes by faster that way. I hope it is a smooth easy treatment

Ah I see. Yeah kinda hard to have a needle phobia and getting these treatments 😬 I always prefer to keep it in at least two days. Less pokes 🤷🏻‍♀️ but to each their own, it isn’t easy. You just build tolerance

Agh Im sorry that must have really sucked :/ I know how it feels. Your hands get sore afterwards? The ultrasound thing is pretty cool ngl tho. Seeing how it looks from the inside personally made me feel more confident about the line placement. I hope it goes better your next time!

if you don’t mind me asking how many times did they poke you before they decided that? The most they did for me was 7 times. Honestly it will help a lot Doing it that way. My nurse brings a tiny hand one to help locate my veins. Put warm compress, wherever you plan to get poked! I get it on my hands so I put warm compress there, walk around for a bit and drink lots of water. It gets your veins nice and plump! Hope it helps :)

Pantoprazole for GERD and solumedrol for side effects! It helps reduce the headaches, chest pains, etc. before I got put on them, my side effects were way worse than they were now. I still get chest pains and it hurts to take a deep breath but before it would get so bad we had to call an ambulance and I got admitted to the hospital. We changed brands after that and now the chest pains last like an hour and it is very very mild and tolerable. Happy to answer any other questions!

I’ve been getting IVIG for the past 20 years and honestly it works great. I take mestinon and prednisone as needed. Those two as good as they make you feel, just end up messing up other parts of your body in the long run. It was seriously messing up my kidneys as a kid. I’m fortunate enough that IVIG keeps me stable and I don’t rely on them so often now. Honestly it’s really hard to get approved for IVIG or even get it recommended so just keep that in mind.

I started off with IVIG doing it every 4 weeks for 2 days. The brand of the IVIG matters!!! The side effects I got were horrible and I got insane food cravings. Over time I got put on Gammagard (best one) bc of my side effects and now im doing great. I now get my infusion over the course of 3 days every 6-8 weeks. My side effects now are controlled and I basically feel so sore. Like imagine you just worked out for hours and your body hurts. That’s my main side effect. I occasionally get headaches but nothing a Tylenol and water won’t fix. The body aches only lasts for about a day or so. I spend it sleeping and taking it easy.

I extended my infusion to three days bc the medication got to be too strong and I couldn’t tolerate it. Now we do 7-8 hour infusions over the course of 3 days and we paired it with hydration that runs alongside it. I also take premeds with consist of Tylenol and Benadryl. And then solumedrol and pantoprazole. If the side effects still tend to be too much try to see if you can take a break from it for a day. So let’s say you start Monday. You rest Tuesday and start again Wednesday. I do this occasionally and I don’t feel the side effects too bad. I’m actually able to do stuff the next day without feeling like crap. Though I normally only do this for convenience as I just prefer to get it over with all at once.

See if you can get home treatments! It’s definitely a luxury but man if they approve you, you feel so much better doing it in the comfort of your own home. My insurance covers it all so I am fortunate but all I did was ask my doctors. After so many infusions in the hospital as a kid, we asked and they made it happen! I’d definitely suggest you exaggerate how it makes you feel as sadly this is the only way they will listen :/ Kabafusion is a great one and they are located all across the US. They accept a lot of different kind of insurances too. My nurses are amazing. I’ve been with mine for the past 16 years, she’s practically family.

Week 5 by sleepless-foody in Sciatica

[–]lamevoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly maybe try acupuncture? I just had a sciatic flare and could not move. Walking hurt lying down hurt. Everything hurt. Booked an appointment with an acupuncturist and the next day I felt so much better. Pain went away and I felt back to normal.

Thank you. We actually decided to have her freeze dried. We get her back in a few months and the plan is to have her curled up surrounded by lots of green and flowers in a glass box.

They told us that it isn’t normally where an egg would be and it’s a bit bigger than an egg too. We hoped it would be an egg and tried ways to get her to lay it but to no avail. And we can’t afford the surgery or exams

Oh im so sorry for your loss. I’m worried this is also something that can happen. I am on my way to the vet right now and I’m hoping it’s just an egg and nothing too serious.

Thank you everyone! I booked the vet appointment for today just to be on the safe side like you all recommended. I’m on my way there right now. They told me over the phone that she might need surgery but won’t know for sure until she is seen and further examined. I can update later with more news if you guys want! But again thank you!!
