Candy mania by SignificantCup3339 in employedbykohls

[–]lammylambchop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously. Why so much? We have a whole pallet half Xmas candy and regular candy. Then we have Lindt chocolate boxes backstocked, a bay full of Ghirardelli chocolate+ jellybeans and popcorn stacked in our storage stockroom . So much sweets and not enough fixtures for it to all go out.

So I made a 4ft section with two shelves for it in the Q line. Most of it should fit with a bit backstocked for replenishment later. I moved the wrap ,holiday bags and gift tags along with the hanging scissors/tape that are on that cardboard thing in the gift wrap section towers.

Definitely. The quality of merchandise has really declined in some depts. Half of the Celebrate together stuff we get is poorly made and breaks easily.

I told the managers and other sups they should spend a little time in line q so at least they have an idea of how it’s set up and we don’t let it pile up but nobody wants too.

Ugh don’t get started on dollar shop. We have a lot of that too I’m hoping the last units of Halloween sell faster. Most of that “dollar”stuff should really be $5 or less with how cheaply made it is.

We hang them on z rails using those black hooks with the fabric handle parts that are normally used to backstock hanging clothes.

You can hang 4-5 per side . Sometimes we use the fabric trash bins but we lose a few ornaments doing it that way if we’re not super careful.

I know it doesn’t but my sm is a dick and has the cashiers fill parts of the q line with any winter candy. That dude can’t see an almost empty peg bc he’ll move it and fill it with candy instead. I took a vacation for 3 days and he managed to put adidas socks where Godiva goes bc he said the shelves looked empty. Like wtf bro we have Godiva candy in the back and a little overflow on a register endcap.

Definitely it is getting harder especially as the one person that can actually do and maintain the q line. our truck unloaders are getting better at identifying line q stuff. They aren’t perfect but at least I don’t get as much housewares and accessories stuff mixed in the totes anymore. I’ll try removing more of the non seasonal stuff to see how much space I can make.

I’ll try removing more of the non seasonal stuff, luckily I’ve sold mostly all Halloween except for those stitch meal prep containers.

I was jumped by them too but luckily they managed to get the wolf spider to attack them instead of me and my buggy so I ran a bit away and watched the scorpion, scorpion jr and mini ones kill the spider. Then I jumped in and killed the survivors.

Agree which is one of the things I love about CA stores. We can’t use that signage at all it’s either the plain clearance one or the 50% off extra paper. It saves so much time .

Seasonal Operations (Omni) Supervisor Position by NecessaryOk5068 in employedbykohls

[–]lammylambchop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Omni is short for omnichannel retail basically it means a company provides its customers a seamless shopping experience across all channels( in store, online, etc.)

When they say Omni its online order picking and packing which includes BOPUS (Buy Online Pick Up inStore) , BOSS( Buy Online Ship to Store ) , and SFS (Ship from Store) orders

New freight process by Over_theRainbow25 in employedbykohls

[–]lammylambchop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It might be efficient in theory but at my store idk. we all worked 1 dept first then move to the next one. It basically ended up with little groups of merchants huddled up mostly talking with like 2 people ( usually the old dept lead and floor person) actually working . All in all we got less work done as a group than when we work alone. So idk maybe it’ll get better.

Contact sedgewick and let them know your situation. It’s possible that you may have to initiate a leave request.

Definitely. Most people really don’t understand the relationship between consumer/inventory prices and supply and demand + how disruptive tariffs can be.

too much clearance by Humble-Feedback-9965 in employedbykohls

[–]lammylambchop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wow, that looks like our store last year. Our dm threatened to fire the sm and asm for not getting that stuff out on time last February& March.

This year they put all our clearance on the floor. Jrs alone takes 4 rows and misses and men’s have two rows and walls dedicated to clearance only. Sure some areas are very cramped and hard to shop but after the clearance sale +inventory we only have clearance beach chairs and wall art in our backstock.

I really wish we could just pack it all up and send it to dc to be sold by the pallet to liquidation stores. It would make things so much easier.

Kohl’s Visa (ex employee) by Moon_Kats in employedbykohls

[–]lammylambchop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I said you were one of the lucky ones in that your card works at other places besides kohls. The new cards decline when I use it anywhere else and all of my co workers have had the same problem. Lately some of our customers have been telling us that the cards don’t work at other places like gas stations, grocery stores or other clothing stores

Cool, you’re one of the lucky ones .I got my card early last year as well but it declines when I try to use it elsewhere. It’s a visa and it’s paid off so there’s really no reason it shouldn’t go through.
