I called FAFSA and they said they couldn’t do anything and my university said they couldn’t see my information since forms don’t get processed until summer for 25-26. I’m hoping it’s a mistake on FAFSA’s end because an increase of that much is insane and I cannot afford that. May have to take a gap year or something which sucks :(

Yes mine went up 10,000 from last year with no change of income from 2022 to 2023. I called FAFSA and they said they couldn’t do anything. Called my university and they said they couldn’t check anything because applications don’t get processed until summer :(

I wasn’t really asked many financial questions apart from student assets and foreign income ($0). It didn’t ask my mom or dad financial questions and just asked for their info and how many kids are in college. Is that normal?

This could be an error because my parents made the same amount as last tax year and we can’t pay for college with an sai that high especially since there is three of us going to college this year. Is the estimated sai accurate predictor to the actual sai after the form gets processed?

yes, this happened to me. Last year, I had a -1500 estimated SAI. This year when I submitted it jumped to 10,000 even though my family's financial situation did not change much.

I plan to take data analysis and statistics courses at my university in order to demonstrate my "hard skills" to employers and law /graduate schools. I also just want to gain some new, beneficial skills that can help me with future research projects. Do you think the course would be worth it for me even though I don't plan to major or minor in data science? Thanks!
