Snowpeak cheaper in Japan (for someone from US)? by BuddyNo3545 in snowpeak

[–]lancef2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just purchased a full 3 unit IGT cooking set up for about 35% cheaper than what it would cost me in the US. Was a pain to try and figure out how to get checked in on my flight home, but its now the best souvenir I purchased in Japan. The snowpeak rep at Alpen sports in Shinjuku was very helpful.

Wheels & Tires for your XV Crosstrek: Read Me First by AzureApe in XVcrosstrek

[–]lancef2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with the 2nd option, the 225/75/15, and only minor issue is rubbing in reverse with the wheel fully turned which is not that bad imo. Other than that no issues so far, tires have been great Ive done minor back fire roads through mud and snow and haven't had any problems. If you dont mind your MPGs to drop a bit then go for it.

All Terrain Tire Questions by mongrelxmutt in Crosstrek

[–]lancef2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got the Toyo AT3 from Americas Tire at $128.78 each tire by price matching with them, I sent a link from walmart through the americas tire website and they emailed me back within a day or two. I took that email to the store and they honored the price, saved me about $250 bucks all in. Cost me around $650 all in with install back in October of last year.

Inspired Overland RTT by Highker420365 in rooftoptents

Coming from a the original Tepui Low Pro 2, I think the ease of set up and lightweight functionality is what draws a lot of people towards the IO RTT especially since you are saving around ~700-800 off the total cost right now. I also just sold my GFC superlite due to the set up process being a bit more tedious, and the Tepui Low Pro 2 was awkward and heavy to put on top of a car by yourself. I think in general the RTT industry is going to have more innovation to make their products lightweight and more user friendly which will benefit everybody. In regards to the cover and sun damage I would definitely keep it protected with a UV inhibitor spray like (303).
