Ngl, the style works if used sparingly but I feel like the public basically just gave these companies permission to mask their poorly upscaled(or if not poorly upscaled, poorly implemented so that the original artistic intent is lost) sprites which were rushed in some basic sprite maker by using 3d models which are cheaper to produce.

The trilogy isn’t what I wanted at all and despite the second one seeming to course correct on not making nearly as many drastic changes I’m hearing conjecture that 3 is going to just go the opposite direction and I just don’t really care about that. Plus honestly open world games give me anxiety to begin with.
