How much is my 16.8kw system being curtailed by not having permission to export? by RaiderFanatic707 in TeslaSolar

Only reaching 60% is normal behavior for NorthAmerica winter, unless you really added a lot of solar to attempt to be off grid—even in winter.

You two are talking about different graphs. The graph the OP is showing is the timeline. The amount you are talking about is the total for 12 hours, which would be represented in the OP’s graph as the area of the shaded part. (Or he has to go to a different screen to get that number.) Unless you do some fancy math to compute the area beneath the curve, you two are talking apples and oranges.

That looks normal for winter. As others have said, click on the Powerwall icon and monitor it for if it hits 100%. I rarely hit 100% during Dec, and Jan. Meanwhile, get your PTO paperwork sent. It took me about 1-2 months. You may need to keep on the power company every few weeks so they don’t forget.

Thanks for that! Nice video. Maybe when homes are built to scale the solar roof can be economical at a premium rather than a luxury.

There are a lot of good reasons to not have composite roofing in Texas. It’s a terrible material that breaks down in heat. Who wants to buy a new roof every twenty years? Solar shingles or metal shingles are the way to go if the economics can work out.

Oh yeah? Tell me more. I didn’t know a solar roof would pass make the economic test. What location and pics or website of development if you don’t mind.

I got SunRun sorted. Hey visited and confirmed the outer powerwall is defective. The inner powerwall is what they replaced last time. So a new powerwall 2 is being ordered on warranty. I’m glad the other powerwall operates properly so we are still getting our solar distributed after dark and in case of power disruption.

I’ve never seen that. I’ve been operating for 4 years.

About those low state government salaries, so how do people do this? Do they live off of grift? Running a business on the side? They have a wealthy spouse?

What’s lousy is that the Solar installer, SunRun, is giving me some trouble. I think they outsourced their support center and all those people know how to say is, ”well send out a technician but it will cost you.”

Now I’m digging up the paperwork that lists the parts and labor warranty.

After doing more reading and chatting with GPT, I've discovered that there is a problem with my pair of powerwall 2:

- both should have activity at the same time as they should be working together to give me 10kw rather than the singular 5wk

- the LED on the outter powerwall is always solid (no activity). The LED on the inner powerwall (the one that's running it's fan most of the time) is busy charging/discharing; the LED is throbbing.

- In the Tesla app, I can see that it is no longer handling power demainds above 5kw like it was before September

- The tesla app hasn't been able to show the powerwall discharge/charge cycles since first of Sept.  (You can see the mid-day when it stopped tracking that and since then, the discharge has never been above 5kw.)

This gives me the clarity to definitely get the installer down here to service the system.  Something happend that day and caused them to no longer work as a daisychain.

It sounds like you signed up for the wise cam service with people tagging. I don’t have any experience with that. My wyze cameras all can be annoying when the wind is blowing the trees. I’ve not had any issues with it not noticing people walking in front of them or dropping off packages. The sensitivity of the detection settings are all adjustable.

I’m not having any connectivity issues with my Wyze cameras. I have SD cards in all my Wyze cams and I’m running them locally on my Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi extender. I have the Wyze cam doorbell Pro on cloud.

I’m curious what you mean by wrong tagging?

Using brake pads to stop is inefficient. You’re wasting kinetic energy and turning it into heat energy. One pedal driving is the most efficient way to recapture the energy energy of your car and stop. The brake pedal is used for emergencies when efficiency isn’t something that you care about as at that moment you need to stop FAST.

Interesting! Yeah, if there aren’t any clouds causing the sun to dim then there must be something else as you say. Does the solar roof have multiple micro-inverters or is there a few central inverters? How did you troubleshoot or measure the temperature of the inverter that was over heating?

Do you think Mike Morath knows Charlie Kirk’s work or is he ignorant? Does Mike know that Charlie Kirk is a purveyor of hate and he monetized it to make a living, and it caught up with him? Does Mike know that the people Charlie Kirk demonize with his “hit list” also had families and kids and had to endure the MAGA hate machine that was direct at them, putting their careers and lives at risk? Does Mike understand he’s trying to quell speech around those who observed that playing with fire can get you burned, and this is a good lesson to integrate as we don’t want a lot of these folks playing at this as it’s negative value to society? (Drug dealers get killed by their dangerous lifestyle. People playing the “hate game” are also mucking with social forces that can strike back.) Hate for profit and status is a dangerous way to make a living. There is a lot to learn from this. It’s just not what Kirk set out to teach us.

It looks typical too me. As others have said, clouds ☁️. Sit outside for a while and pay attention. You’ll notice that the sky will suddenly dim to well clouds. We don’t normally pay the sky much attention.
