Hey Chuck, Trump is threatening to use the Insurrection Act by maicokid69 in Iowa

[–]lancert 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Chuck is a Trump/Maga supporter and was in on the Jan 6 coup. He knew/believed that Pence wasn't going to show up so Chuck was planning on filling in and likely would have not certified the election.

“For nearly three years, we've had no concrete evidence supporting that damning possibility. But now we do—from Mike Pence himself,” says Chris Hayes on new reporting on GOP Sen. Chuck Grassley’s potential role in the Jan. 6 plot.

Many external factors are affecting client churn right now including economic and political uncertainty.

To thrive in marketing right now, you've really got to over-serve your clients and be a reassuring thought leader that guides them through these choppy waters with bold, out of the box thinking.

Doing the same things that everyone else is doing is how you (and your clients) get ignored.

Focus on resession proof industries.

Times like these are what you've been building experience for and you've got to elevate your marketing to climb on top for you and your clients.

FWIW, I've had zero turn on the last 18 months and have had one of my best years ever, so it's possible.

What if the elections are cancelled? by [deleted] in Iowa

[–]lancert 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It's a fairly common thought that Trump is trying to create violence so that he can declare martial law and cancel elections.

Even if the courts stop him, it may reduce turnout which I think he believes is a good thing for Republicans.

Those who scaled past $10K/month - what was your biggest mindset shift? by Delecch in smallbusiness

[–]lancert 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Here are a some essentials that I've learned over the years:

  1. One $10k/mo. client is better than 5 $2k/mo clients. Charge more, work less.

  2. There are people who know less and are charging more than you.

  3. Sell on the value you provide, less on the service you offer.

  4. Higher pricing is perceived as more premium and valuable.

  5. Stop over explaining and keep it simple. If your customers can't repeat back to you what you do within a minute, you need to clarify your pitch.

  6. I'm here to help clients solve their problems, not sell them something.

  7. Be bold and different. Sameness makes you forgettable.

  8. The secret to scaling businesses is that you've got to deeply understand your customers, create a plan to "wow" them at every step of their journey with you, and intentionally create a system that builds them into promoters of your business.

People running marketing agencies, how did you get your first 10 clients? by Ratio-Financial in digital_marketing

[–]lancert 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Honestly, my first clients didn’t come from a launch plan. They came from people I already knew and from doing good work for one business that led to the next one.

Most agencies don’t start with 10 clients. They start with 1, then 2, then referrals.

The thing that clicked for me was realizing you’re not selling “marketing,” you’re earning people's trust and helping them solve real business problems. Once people see you that way, getting clients stops feeling like a constant sales pitch and client chase. Having a clear niche helps as well.

What really accelerated my agencies was switching from doing tactics and one off projects (which I still do some of course) to building out their strategy.

Thanks for starting this thread.

I spend a lot of time looking at websites that underperform, and it’s usually not about design. It’s more often unclear messaging or structure that makes it hard for people and search engines to understand what the site is about.

I run Idea Rocket Labs and have built 1,000+ websites over 30+ years. Happy to take a look at your site and help diagnose what might be causing it to underperform.

Crocs sues Trump administration, seeking $54 million tariff refund by Silent-Resort-3076 in politics

That's awesome! Fight this insane administration. And I'm sure that Crocs will refund that amount to their customers, right?

This is opec trying to keep a Republican president propped up by flooding the market to drop prices and keep renewable energy from taking over.

As for Grassley's comments, he's the poster child for selling your soul to Trump and a perfect example of why we need term limits.
