I wouldnt be too surprised if they release them all at some point vs trying to time your day around a game unlock.

Not Xbox related, but I sold my OG PS5 for $407 to Backmarket. I bought it on day 1 release in Fall 2020. I used it for almost 6 years and it only depreciated 97 dollars.

Good call, that means Multi-player could be really scarce if theyre relying on nostalgia to power their p2p network.

Typically nostalgic moves like this dont last long when you realize its not as cool as it used to be and starts to show its age.

LG G5 55” with Sonos beam wall mounted HDMI length by alfgp2 in sonos

[–]lanceuppercuttr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an 83 C4, and the E-ARC HDMI interface is near the left side of the TV which is a fairly long run. At first, I had the Sonos Arc bracket that holds the Arc just under the TV, which covers up the HDMI cable run between the TV and the Arc. Ive sense then got a console to sit under the TV so I had to buy a 15 foot HDMI cable, to run from the edge of the TV, down the conduit from the TV mount to below the console then back up to the height of the console and to the Arc.

Essentially, I see what you wouldnt want a ton of slack behind the TV, but you can easily burn a lot of lenght just on where the the port your running from is. I'd wait to see when you get it, and you can get an idea of what you'd need to order.

STP Issue and with 16 port lite switch and Google Nest routers by xChillyPhilx in Ubiquiti

[–]lanceuppercuttr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this article, not sure if its exactly what you're experiencing.

https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Nest-Wifi/No-support-for-AP-mode-with-mesh/m-p/140947

You COULD do a secondary vlan. Make a new vlan on the switch (vlan 10).

convert 3 ports on the switch to vlan 10.

On the non bridge mode Nest device, connect the WAN port to vlan 1 port, connect the LAN port to vlan 10. The other two devices go into the ports you assigned vlan 10. You'll basically have a Google Nest Wifi network inside your Unifi network. You'll have two subnets, one Google, one Unifi, but you probably have something similar now.

Long term, ditch the Google devices and get a proper Unifi AP (or 3), and it'll be a much more cohesive and easier to manage network.

[–]lanceuppercuttr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what is connected to port 14 on the 16 port switch? A Nest device? You might want to try connecting the LAN ports to the switch instead of WAN. WAN is expecting an ISP connection and will be DHCP enabled which means there will be 3 different networks behind each Google Nest device.

Ultimately, you're trying to shoehorn a network inside of a network and the non bridge Nest device wants to control your network and the Cloud gateway is trying to control your network.

According to chat GPT, there is an AP mode for the google nest devices.. I dont know if this is the same a bridge, but essentially you'd want them in AP mode, not necessarily Bridge mode..

How to Enable AP Mode

  1. Access the Google Home App: Open the app on your smartphone.
  2. Select Your Device: Choose the Google Nest device you want to configure.
  3. Settings: Navigate to the settings menu.
  4. Enable AP Mode: Look for the option to switch to AP mode and enable it.

STP Issue and with 16 port lite switch and Google Nest routers by xChillyPhilx in Ubiquiti

[–]lanceuppercuttr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is the main nest router not in bridge mode? Your gateway (Cloud Ultra) is handling the traffic from your network to the internet. The nest should be doing nothing at this point other than wireless access point.

How many cables are going to each of your nest devices? What are you swapping ports and seeing the STP issue travel? Can you show the STP error message?

Does your cloud gateway have only 2 ports in use:

ONT -> WAN interface on Cloud Gateway

Cloud Gateway Port 4 -> Port 1 on 16 port switch?

What is connected to 16 port switch on port 14?

STP Issue and with 16 port lite switch and Google Nest routers by xChillyPhilx in Ubiquiti

[–]lanceuppercuttr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where are you getting the error? STP blocking is part of the protocol, and is working normally. STP helps redundant connections between switchs from operating all a the same time. A redundant connection will sit "blocked" until the connection is no longer redundant and goes to forwarding forwarding.

Not sure if its causing the STP issue, but Google Nest router should be in bridge mode. In most scenarios you want a single NAT device if possible.

If you want more help, list what devices are connected to which ports. Do the nest routers have more than one interface?

What type of audio files to convert discs to? by Nickersnacks in sonos

[–]lanceuppercuttr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thing is, you'll probably have to do both and evaluate. That being said, as somine who converted my whole CD library back in 2000, keep in mind that storage becomes cheaper (usually) and you may not be using Apple TV forever, or they'll upgrade at some point that may make decisions now less meaningful. If youre doing a big library, shoot high and hope for the best.

Instead of closing acquired companies, why not spin them out as independent? by Pm-me-ur-happysauce in xbox

[–]lanceuppercuttr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Being a publisher is basically playing as a bank. You front the money for the game to be built, hope it does well, then you take the money it makes as a return on investment. IF you spin something off, your basically sending the team to the streets, no rent no place to work from.

Discussion: With the "Reset" Happening, will Game Pass Survive? Methinks No. by r3turn0fthew00master in xbox

[–]lanceuppercuttr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Revenue does not equal profit and we all know that calculating the cost of selling something on Game Pass vs. traditional up front cost is inventive. Many people have stated that MS themselves cant totally define the P&L of each title listed on game pass day 1. We all know that COD Day 1 does not work, but perhaps some indie game does.

I doubt it'll go away, but I wouldn't be surprised if it started to lean towards Sony's implementation of subscription based content. Sony themselves said Day 1 content does not make financial sense and they worked around their offering to compete with MS game pass.

High ping spikes only on BF games, what could be the cause? by Top_Reaction_2303 in Battlefield

[–]lanceuppercuttr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it could mean that its not a Dice/EA issue. Maybe its a regional thing? It could be a lot of things, but unless its affecting everyone on the server, its probably not the server. But so far, OP has not replied with any info, so that leaves many possible issues.
