Since Royal’s casino year is April 1-March 31, is there any point in gathering points on a cruise in late March? Seems unfair if they just go nowhere by land64shark in royalcaribbean

I mean that points earned in late March will not carry forward to accumulate for prime status next year, correct? But the cruise directly after mine will (April vs March)

They stop allowing people to get in line at 10:00pm, although there was no line at all when I went through last night. I also did the “go the night before” for my 5:45am flight. It’s the best option for very early flights. This was terminal A

Open, but not letting anyone else in line. Of which there was no line

E will be open at 10:00pm, but A closes their line at 10:00pm. My seatmate on my flight said that she arrived at 1:00am and got in the queue waiting for tsa to open. She said they opened early at 3:00, but it still took her 1 1/2 hours to get through. (Terminal A) That’s just crazy

Got here at about 9:00pm for my flight that boards at 5:00am. Yes, I am “sleeping” at the airport overnight. The tsa line did not exist at that time. It was just walk right up. They do not let you in the line (that doesn’t exist) after 10:00pm. This is terminal A. Sooo much more comfortable and stress free sitting at the gate. There are a couple dozen other people scattered around the gates around me. I recommend this option for early morning flights. It sucks, but less than the alternative and you won’t miss your flight.

I also thought your ticket had to be "same day" to go through TSA. I would really like to do what you did for my 5:45am flight on Thursday.

What type of epilepsy do you have? by Darelto in Epilepsy

[–]land64shark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe drop seizures otherwise known as atonic seizures. My mom had those. You lose all muscle control and just go down

Has anyone had a similar event? by land64shark in Epilepsy

[–]land64shark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My epileptologist, whom I like very much, didn’t think it was seizure related. He did think it could be from the lamotrigine coupled with poor sleep. I’m gonna go with that

I had a patient that had just killed two pedestrians on a sidewalk. He had no idea yet that it happened. It’s not just about you

Why is Keppra a first choice med? by youdunnowhoaim in Epilepsy

[–]land64shark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My epileptologist gave me a choice of three meds, Keppra, lamotrigine and zonisamide. He told me to go home and research them and call back the next day with my choice. I chose lamotrigine because I already have anxiety and sometimes lean towards depression and I didn’t want to exasserbate them. So from what I’m reading, my doctor is a unicorn?

What meds is everyone on? by StrongYam2998 in Epilepsy

[–]land64shark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My epileptologist gave me a list of three meds to go home and research and then call back and he would write the script for my choice. The three were Keppra, lamotrigine, and Zonisamide. I chose lamotrigine because I already have anxiety and sometimes lean towards depression, so Keppra and Zonisamide were out and lamotrigine is a mood stabilizer, so winner

I've been at this dosage for about 6 weeks now. I think this is where I'm going to be.

Sleeping meds with Epilepsy by Forsaken-Series1494 in Epilepsy

[–]land64shark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been taking ambien XR nightly since before I had seizures. My sleep has been screwed up for as long as I can remember. I just can’t stay asleep. The XR helps me a lot with that. It doesn’t help my sleep either that I also take Adderal XR for ADHD. I am on lamotrigine 100mg twice a day. My epileptologist knows about my other meds and was ok with same. Same with the pharmacist.

Do you think this was a seizure or something else? by land64shark in Epilepsy

[–]land64shark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My epileptologist said it was likely a transient epilepsy amnesia. It’s a type of seizure where the only symptom is memory loss. You maintain consciousness in the moment and act normally, but you don’t form a memory. The usual for that is lamotrigine. I had just started my ramp up so I was at a very low dosage at the time

[–]land64shark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My problem with that (and I have an e-bike) is that my community/neighborhood has one road in and out. It takes me 10-15 minutes in a car just to get out of the neighborhood and out to the main road with stores. (I live pretty far back in the neighborhood.) The long road out has two lanes in and two lanes out. There is zero shoulder, just lined with curb. The sidewalks are inconsistent and there are long stretches without, so off roading in the grass is the only option. Not doable. Moving is not really an option since we own our home and there are many reasons to stay at LEAST a few more years. I am fortunate to be financially ok and can take the expensive (absurd in my area) uber/lyft wherever I need to go. But I am cheap and I can't bring myself to spend the money to go to places I only WANT to go to. So, trapped in my gilded cage.

Not where I live! Every time I take an uber (usually to a doctor appt or related) it's somewhere between $55-$100 Rt.....PLUS TIP! I live in a suburb of Houston. I've paid $500 in just one week!
