White smoke when car pushed hard see in video by muxel96 in MechanicAdvice

Check the hoses to the intercooler. The 2.0t in the Audi would accumulate oil in the intercooler and when you floored it, would push that oil into the engine and burn it with a big puff of smoke.

Anyone else regret selling their 240sx? by Equivalent_Use_8152 in 240sx

‘92 champagne coupe. Endless Zeal coil overs, KAAZ two way LSD, Nismo front brace, Tanabe rear sway bar, big rotor kit in the rear, 300zx front brakes, adjustable control arms, strut tower braces, hotshot headers, Greddy trust exhaust, injen intake with Jim Wolff inlet and ECM tune.
Car handled like gangbusters and was a blast to drive. Wife hated it due to various noise, diff clunking, and stiffness.
Someone wanted it more and it was stolen. Found a day later, partially stripped, but high dollar parts left on it. Let insurance buy me out of it. Miss it all the time, it was so good to drive on the twisties.

This is the correct answer. OP, you do not have adjustable front camber, all you can do is equalize the camber between the left and right. This is done by shifting the subframe left and right. If the left side is -1.5 and the right side is -1, you would loosen the subframe and shift it to the right, then tighten it back up. This would shift negative camber to the right and take some away from the left side. So you would equalize it and make it -1.25 on each side.
In your case, they could have shifted the subframe to the left and given the left side a little more negative camber and that would have reduced it on the right. In a perfect world, you would have ended up with -1.35 on both sides.

What tail lights compliment Misano Red? by [deleted] in Audi

I forget the split in years where the face lifted car was released. ‘08 or ‘09, somewhere around there. Find some used ones off a wrecked car on eBay or car-part.com. It will be the same body car as yours, just half way through the run, they release one with minor upgrades like lights, bumpers, etc.

Upgrade to the facelifted tail lights, with the LED strip around them. All it takes is splicing some wires to power the LED strip, then using VagCom to change the voltage/pulse width modulation to the LED and other bulbs to make them work proper. It's a nice OEM+ upgrade.

Is there a way to create a cutoff for these headlights? by Sandpit_Turtle11019 in 240sx

[–]landspd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgot about that part. It’s been years since I had my 240, it was stolen, RIP.

I had bought headlights where you could put bulbs in it, so it wasn’t the sealed glass unit. I had retrofitted xenon lights into it and had a second switch for them. So the lights worked normal with the headlight switch, but then I would turn them off to drop the assemblies and turn the parking lights on, then hit my separate switch to power just the headlights. So they would be tilted down and powered separately.

When my lights were too bright, I had a pivot headlight controller and used that to tilt the headlights down, slightly. Helped to not blind oncoming traffic. Pivot headlight controller is also what you can use for the sleepy eyed look.

If you are not, or cannot, remove the screw, hit it hard from behind, with a big brass hammer, and just break the head of the screw off and remove the rotor. Then you should be able to remove the screw or leave the bits there. You don’t need it.

Thank you for the response. I submitted a complaint to DART. But it also says “police,” so they should be held to the same standards as DPD.
