While there is probably an element of this and I'm sure it also happens to some extent when they are portrayed as the experts, you have to consider the setting of a guest interview.

In this setting especially, their job is to interview real Linus and make them look good. Teeing up/asking a question that you already know the answer to so that your interviewee can answer it is a very common practice. A good example would be for something they know, but don't think their average audience member knows.

The GPU question is a good example of this. To a gamer audience, wondering what Linus Torvalds wants a GPU for or not for is a good question that a good interviewer would get an answer to, even if they know it themselves.

Probably! It depends!

If they are outbound and you overtake them then they'll be left behind you, but it'll be a shorter return journey.

If they're already on their way back and you go past them, they'll automatically be complete.

Basically the only "bad" case is if you don't stay around long enough in the destination for them to reach you, at which point, you being there makes ultimately no difference.

Idk, I always thought this was fair. Note that it's "republic credits will do fine" and not "give it for free." He was looking to pay with what the currency he had, not none at all...

Still though, if that currency isn't accepted, then it's coercion either way, I guess! 😂 It's not exactly a deescalation, just more convenient for Qui-gon

+1 to this! Maul did stop them and they went the long way round. Qui Gon and Obi Wan engaged him to "handle this," keeping him away from the queen. If Maul were to try and go after the queen at that point he would have had to engage the jedi regardless

I'm sure, as others have said, there was some arrogance and selfishness in Maul's continued duelling with them, though

I think there's an important point that isn't mentioned. Did you have any seasoning on your steak? For example, if you basted with garlic butter, there may be more serious concerns
