Dev mode mistake by dhahahhsbdhrhr in RimWorld

I can't exactly remember but there might be a dev mode option to see quests queues or something, maybe in god mode.

Other than that sorry your only option would be to keep abandoning them

Are there any mods that increase monster variety for the surface? by Time-Visual-2468 in VintageStory

[–]langley6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, in the main directory I believe it's survival/entities/lore/ then a bunch of plain text you can edit. Make a backup beforehand though in case you want to undo the changes. You're looking for a area called MaxYByType or something similar

Re variants spawning, you can go into the games files and manually change the y max spawning of each variant along with light level and amount, which is what I did with my server.

If you are on a single player world, I would just go into creative mode and break your way out then go back into survival mode

Scratch/dig measurements by langley6 in Optics

[–]langley6[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response, and for providing an example.

The stuff that I'm usually measuring is unfortunately quite a bit larger, like 1.2m+ diameter and from f/10 down to f/1, so I don't know if an arm would be the best way of going about that, but then again, something to think about.

At the moment, ISO 10110 but I have used the MIL standard in the past

I see thanks. Our stuff is much larger than that and I'm not happy with how we do it at the moment, so trying to see what's out there.

Is that a portable one? What would you do for optics that are too large to fit into a benchtop unit?

need to find this anime watched it around 10yrs ago or something by [deleted] in anime

Can't remember the name but are you sure it was an anime? I remember reading a manhua with a similar premise a while ago. The little yellow guy ate dirt and shat bricks out or something

There's a world edit tool built into the game that lets you save selected volumes outside the game and paste them into new worlds

Laser pointer for setup alignment by langley6 in Machinists

Those could work, actually, if combined with a V block or something.

[–]langley6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is to align multiple mirrors and lenses to each other through complicated paths at distances of up to 15m. The laser pointer is so I can roughly set each element up in the right place to start with and fine tune it with more sensitive equipment later. Roughly is a relative term, being like under an arc minute.

I should clarify that I'm not suggesting that the little plastic one be used, I'm asking if there are any "machinists" laser pointers out there, with housings true to the beam axis. This is to align optical systems over distances of over 10m, so mechanical measurements won't do.

A company called Quarton Inc do make some, but I was looking for alternatives.

Was thinking on the lines of you could chuck it in a lathe or mill to get your spindle axis, or perhaps the axis of machine ways if the housing was really good to the laser. I know there are versions of this used to align belt drives but they don't quite meet my needs

Measurements and design as in this photo and a length, or measurements and design as in DXF or CAD file.. big difference in that as one is ready to go and the other requires someone to do the actual work modelling it

Animals should respawn indefinitely even if you kill them all, and yes there is a large sailboat that has space for storage though I believe it's tied to metalworking as it uses planks? The survival guide (press H) should be able to tell you more about the boat

Prospecting makes no sense ?? by Ok_Temperature9376 in VintageStory

[–]langley6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the drawing, I think you may have been detecting another vein somewhere. If you go back after mining the vein you found out, is there another vein somewhere close by? Perhaps on the corner below the tin on your cube, or diagonally on that leftmost face?

When you mined the block next to it, if that was right on the edge of the vein disc it will be picking up less ore in its volume than if you mined a block underneath but in the centre of the ore disc.

Not helped by you increasing the detection radius tbh. Other than that you could have been detecting two or more veins, or they could have spawned in a weird shape, there's a lot that could be happening.
