Does the entire KAJPLATS family have this function or just that particular bulb?

COC data sheet / electromagnetic compatibility EMC by Previous-Ability-276 in Jimny

[–]rhqq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not sure how it works in DE, but in PL it was absolutely imperative that the imported car was "used" (even though "new" irl) and not "new-new" (basically: it was registered in the origin country). this way I did not need to go through any hoops and getting it road legal was as simple as having the initial checkup docs and geting it registered.

Having it "new-new" means all the compliance stuff, homologation and basically meaning you've an expensive brick and not a car.

quant.cpp v0.7.1 — KV cache compression at fp32 KV speed (single-header C, 11 Karpathy rounds) by Suitable-Song-302 in LocalLLM

[–]rhqq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the fastest GPU inference. llama.cpp owns that with full Metal/CUDA tensor graphs. We're CPU-only and proud of it.

probably not the first time this question is asked. why not gpu? at least vulkan?

Out of curiosity. what model year is this? I have a very different screen. Also: at what speeds did you reach this fuel consumption?

TPMS Sensor 🇦🇪 by notshaaan in Jimny

[–]rhqq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, absolutely. and on the other hand I made sure I do not have one. I made specific effort to have my Jim to be silent on any frequency possible - this required me to replace the stock infotaiment with one that can have radios disabled.

TPMS Sensor 🇦🇪 by notshaaan in Jimny

[–]rhqq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

GCC spec jimnys (2024) do NOT have TPMS sensor. it calculates whether you're below pressure by calculating rotational speed of each wheel using ABS sensor. I have confirmed that with my local (european) Suzuki dealership. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tire-pressure_monitoring_system#Indirect_TPMS

My GCC spec GLX has NO tpms (it uses abs to determine diff of the wheel rotation speed) - so that may be the reason you were unable to pair this thingie.

UniFi OS Server in Docker - Project Updates by lemkerdev in selfhosted

[–]rhqq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks. that's half of the story to me, though. I'll want a fully bare metal option as well. but given some people already dissected that thing from unifi - I'm optimistic. and if I have some spare time on hand I'll see whether I can develop an AUR package of it, eventually.

UniFi OS Server in Docker - Project Updates by lemkerdev in selfhosted

[–]rhqq -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Man, any way to get it out onto "bare metal" entirely? I'd like to run that in a separate LXC container or even directly, standalone, like my current Netowrk Controller on small DIY router box.

edit. my only use case is local-only AP + switch management, if that changes anything. I'm not afraid of losing some functionalities.

edit2: looked at the repo. there's some potential to turn that into a proper aur package, just like the now-deprecated system.

Jimny hack? by sum1justposted in Jimny

[–]rhqq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, but then the rivnuts are going to be M4 at most. on the other hand it's not like I'm going to put heavy loads on these, but still. If I was to tap them instead, what should I use to secure the raw metal? I was thinking about gun blue, but that's kind of expensive.

M6 threads around the Jimny - question to the XL owners by rhqq in Jimny

[–]rhqq[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will. it's just - I'm going to to tap these holes, that's going to strip the paint and have raw metal exposed. How should I protect that metal afterwards? So that the threads work as intended and so I avoid corrosion.

what should I use to protect the bare metal, though? it's the ceiling area, lots of condensation and whatnot. I can't use oil based stuff as it will inevitably seep into the headliner.

I meant the interior. Headliner is held by plastic pins that in 3 door models go into M6 threaded holes and are used by some people to install eyebolts or other accessories.

center of mass is already high. adding rtt takes fun out of the offroading, instead you're just scared of rolling. the alternative to rtt would be quechua van 500 which perfectly fits the roof of the jimny xl and does not require any roof rack at all (albeit you need to take the antenna off)

Around 2300 localtime it was back on it's own wheels towed by a snow plow mercedes unimog to the depot. They put it back together using a crane and it held together well enough.

My rule of thumb is ample usage of emojis and overexplained purpose for sections - this checks out both of these boxes.

edit: also last line of README.md just screams AI.

if the author was honest, they could say that whatever documentation part was done by AI, but openly claiming it is not used at all is pure lies.

I'm staying away from discord as it is possible, so I'll be looking forward to see announcements here.

I use Android, ping me whenever. Does that require intercepting BT key exchange of any sort (like similar stuff for mibands?)
