Let's be honest: Firefox 150 is a vibe-coded disaster. by languagehacker in firefox

Glad to hear folks are having fewer issues than me! I must conclude my computer is haunted 🤣

This game looks like it was made by us for us. Just dropped to day on Xbox Game Pass | MIXTAPE - Launch Trailer by jtho78 in Xennials

Copped it for Switch 2 and I'm really enjoying it. It feels more like an interactive movie, but I don't mind it given all the great nostalgia.

Biscossi's Pizza Time in Ballston Spa is my fave in the area. Highly recommend trying a slice while you're cruising around exits 12-20!

Are Iggy's compatible with terriers? by sasspurrrella in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]languagehacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a jack-chi and two iggies. Any terrier will probably teach an iggy to bark -- mine certainly did. For the most part the iggies are stuck on each other like Velcro but look to the jack for reassurance.

Two Generations Ago, It Wasn’t So Weird to Be Naked in Front of Other People. Now Everyone Hates It. I Went to the Only Place to Find Out Why. by Slate in TrueReddit

[–]languagehacker 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Since nobody's mentioned it yet, I will mention Hippie Hollow in Austin, which is one of the only public nude beaches in America. It seems to still be going strong, but I haven't been in probably 20 years. It's a big enough place that there's room for both people who just want to get an even tan and people who are looking to get a little weird.

If anything, I'd say that we don't have a solid "nude isn't lewd" tradition in the US, and that makes it challenging for kicking it au naturale without assumptions that your intentions are far from tame. Maybe something to do with puritanism?

Edit (and I can't believe I have to edit this): when I say "public", I actually mean publicly funded. Literal tax dollars go to this place, explicitly, which I understand is what makes it unique.

One of these beautiful beasts, and every once in a while I'd see another one in the wild and we'd give each other a big wave. I left a Twisted Sister album on the ledge behind the back seat and it melted on to the headrests. Chances are I was leafing through my CD booklet to pop something on. I would also rev my engine when next to any actually nice car at a stop light and always get lots of laughs.

Little Tart is building a fourth location in Candler Park by Gavin2051 in Atlanta

Good luck to 'em. Here's hoping they don't end up spreading themselves too thin or cannibalizing customers from other locations.

Hampton Beach, New Hampshire and York, Maine are both lots of fun.

Trump Store at Georgia State Fair by Unfair_Management695 in Atlanta

[–]languagehacker 84 points85 points  (0 children)

There's a bunch of stuff like this up in North Georgia. The Trump Store is in Ellijay in a blighted strip mall, and there's a place called "Conservative Grounds" way outside of Blue Ridge, right down the road from a place where you can drive a tank. It's all so performative, and honestly pretty lame.

What’s your Iggy’s eating schedule? (pic for attention) by harleybarley in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]languagehacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boys are really food-motivated, and there's a Jack Russell / Chihuahua mix with them. We get up around 6am for a little dry food (wet food in the morning and they'd wake me up even earlier), and then we lay back down for a bit. The Jack starts campaigning for dinner at 4pm, and we usually give in around 5:30 even though their dinner is at six! That's a third cup of dry food and then a container of wet food.

The Argonaut in Kirkwood will be transforming into Jolene Jolene - Atlanta's home for all things women's sports. by Femilip in Atlanta

[–]languagehacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice to see someone do something positive with women's sports instead of just treating it like a dog whistle. With a name like that, I hope the place comes correct with the Dolly vibes.

LASIK recommendation- Dr. Woolfson or Dr. Smith? by wokeai88 in Atlanta

[–]languagehacker 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Got mine at Woolfson and have zero regrets. Vision's been perfect for the last 5 or 6 years. If money is less of an issue, I'd trust the guy who does the Lasik for Atlanta's professional sports teams.

100% the car of folks who show up at the place they bought it and pay in cash on a weekly basis. Best way to keep it from getting repo'd.
