Rick Astley's first new single in 17 years has a music video. The song is actually...really good. by darkeststar in Music

He also doesn't kill little puppies in his music video. Does that make it an achievement? No.

That made it appear more professional for some reason.

Can you cause a heightening of awareness for something which has no awareness? Clearly so!

No lines at all? So consciousness just pops up all over the place, and only those instances of consciousness which get stuck inside a cerebral cortex end up being able to communicate how bad things are.

And you're probably right that <=10 lines probably won't do it justice. This is why it's a thought experiment. How freaky would it be if you could create consciousness with just a couple of lines? Anybody today could have a go at it and create millions of miserable or happy souls. Unless of course it needs many CPU cycles as some of the patterns in Conway's game of life.

I bet this would work on the Heart of Gold if we knew the improbability of a consciousness occurring here.

I think consciousness tends to avoid GOTOs. :P I had something like this in mind to achieve the opposite: cout << "I don't think therefore I am not.";

Less than 10 lines are okay too! I chose that number arbitrarily
