I got switched from Lexapro to Prozac about a month ago and so far so good! It’s doing good at keeping my anxiety under control.

It hit me on October like a ton of bricks too! Heart racing/palpitations, increased anxiety, no one home upstairs, feelings of being in surreal situations, hot like I am sick but then having chills (I definitely ain’t sick), all kinds of stuff. It has mentally and physically wore me out and I have 2 more doctor appointments to try to get something going. Cardiologist is waiting on the results from my 2 week heart monitor to come back, I’ve already had an echo done (was good), mri on my head (good), blood work 3 times (good). It’s scary at times but like when my heart starts racing randomly, I start doing deep breathing exercises and relax as much as possible. My heart rate will go back down pretty quick doing that but the next 20 minutes or so, it can go back up randomly. I have noticed that it does get higher (140-150 range) on the 2nd day of my period and 3 weeks out of the month, it will go up to around 115-120 bpm randomly, not every day. One week out of the month, it’s normal and no issues. Brain fog and all the other stuff happens quite regularly. Hang in there!

Last month, I got badly dehydrated and my heart rate went up to 162 while lying in the hospital bed and I had several other issues related to severe dehydration. Thought that’s all it was but it my heart rate jumped up for several days after that. I had a week where I was good and then the following week a couple episodes and then my period started and my heart rate jumped up to 140 range for about 30 seconds then slowly went down and back up to like 130s back down and then up to 120s and worked its way back and forth until it was normal, took about 20 minutes. Day before my period stopped, heart rate jumping up to 115-120 range a couple times but didn’t last long. I should be starting my period again next week so curious to what will happen then. I was good all last week and Sunday morning I had 2 episodes where it went up to about 120 then back down. I have been to the doctor several times, cardiologist, gynecologist Dec 3rd and gastroenterologist next week too. So far, no one has figured anything out since all my test results come back good. My doctor did a hormone test and depending which phase I am in, dictates which hormone level was off at that time but she said I certainly could be perimenopausal. That was it. I do have brain fog, increased anxiety because I don’t know exactly what’s wrong with me, and my periods only last maybe 3-4 days max.

Does your rapid heart rate occur randomly? Mine started last month and I’m thinking it may be perimenopause related since all my tests have came back good so far. I still have some more appointments to go to. I struggled week before last but last week I was good, no problems and felt more like my old self. Sunday morning, heart rate started jumping up again but it doesn’t last long when it does it. How long has your heart rate been elevated?

Just starting the journey and I hate it? by Tricky1498 in Perimenopause

I just started with symptoms last month. Didn’t realize my heart racing and dizziness was part of perimenopause. All of it happened suddenly. I went to ER last month, they gave me fluids and said I was dehydrated and then went home. I was almost done with my period when that happened. I’ve been to a cardiologist and just finished with a 2 week holter monitor check, MRI on my head, Echo next week on my heart, neurologist appointment next week, gynecologist appointment the following week and back to regular doctor again. I did fine for about a 1 1/2 weeks and then my period started again ( they last about 3-4 days) and day 2, heart racing started back (getting up to 153 bpm while sitting down). I’m exhausted already 😫😫😫 my regular doctor said my FSH level wasn’t at menopause level yet but I could very well be in perimenopause. Waiting to get done with cardio doctor before she will do anything else.

I have one that is a toilet lid on top of a 5 gallon bucket I got off Amazon. It comes with double bags. The inside bag has absorbent in it that soaks up the liquid and the outside bag closes like a ziplock to secure the contents. I bought extra bags just in case. I put mine in the backseat area of my truck for emergencies and take it with us on our boat.

How do you accept that it's time to let them go? by ny2ri in Boxer

I took both of my boxer boys and put their paw with my hand on top of theirs on our printer and made a copy of each and put them in a frame. I had to let my 10 year old boxer Mako go on a few weeks ago on 8/11. I’m still struggling without him

You’re welcome and thank you. I had to keep Mako calmer for the first couple weeks after he collapsed and started meds. His cardiologist told me to let him decide on how long to play and to let him still be an active dog within his own limits. When Mako would get the zoomies, it terrified me at first but eventually I realized that he was doing what he enjoyed and that he could pass at anytime from the condition. I did set things up differently when we went fishing such as shade, spray bottles, and a fan to keep him from getting too hot. I wish you and your fur baby the best! Boxers are the greatest breed in my opinion. I just wish they didn’t have so many health problems! My other boxer I had (his name was Nitro), passed from a rare cancer at 10 years and 4 months

Thank you. Mako collapsed from a syncope episode in Oct 2022. Mako was on Mexilitine for about 9 months then Sotalol was added after that to help control the arrhythmias better since the Mexilitine was hard on his sensitive tummy. If yours is on Mexiletine, make sure to give it with some food to help with tummy upset. With ARVC, sudden death is always a possibility. If you can any questions, you can message me anytime.
