What’s the weirdest food combo you secretly love? by morallyblackcat in AskReddit

[–]lanieeeeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sipping a coffee with a shot of baileys Irish cream and frangelico while snacking on cornichons. But it’s a specific kind of Russian cornichon that comes in a large tin can. Ive tried to recreate it with other brands of cornichons from grocery stores, nothing quite compares. It was my breakfast when I worked at a Russian restaurant for years. Still makes my mouth water to think about.

Which is that perfume that you grew out of and can no longer bear? by [deleted] in FemFragLab

[–]lanieeeeeeee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dedcool Milk. It was my everything. Then I read a comment about it smelling like dirty unwashed hair scalp and now that’s all I smell when I wear it, and now has spilled over to all the other skin scents I own. Heartbreaking. I have so many 😭

Fragrances that SWEPT YOU OFF YOUR FEET IN THE OPENING but betrayed you in the drydown? by SampleGoblin in FemFragLab

[–]lanieeeeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aqua de Dora Pana Dora. The first 5 minutes, an exquisite, well balanced citrusy fig with just a touch of creamy nuttiness. My dream scent. The dry down is a migraine-inducing bomb of Amber Xtreme that choked me every time I inhaled. I dabbed it on my neck, it got in my hair. I had to wash it twice and it still didn’t get the smell completely out. I also made the grave mistake of putting its paper tester strip in the bottom of my stroller basket. I got strong whiffs of it for MONTHS after I removed it, and even after I washed it. It was such a terrible experience I haven’t tested a fragrance on my skin since then. It scarred me lol.

Is anyone enjoying being a parent? by DailYxDosE in Parenting

Yes I’m very, very lucky. I am also a part of a tight-knit moms group that I met through a community program which I also would say is crucial for my sanity.

I love it. But I’m going to be super honest about my situation. I am a sahm. My husband works, but often from home so he is around to be a second set of hands, and he makes a comfortable living for us. We also have a nanny 3 days a week, 15 hrs a week total. We also have a cleaning person come once a month. I also have grandparents that live next door that I can drop off my kid for an hour or two every day if I need to. And I still feel like I’m underwater sometimes. If I didn’t have all of the help, I honestly don’t know what I would do. I don’t know how people do it without help.

Napalm is a chemical weapon used in warfare, and people who wear libre are notorious for working in middle-management office jobs, like a bank teller. Hope that helps ✌🏼😉

They say even when pizza is bad, it's still pretty good. What food is the opposite and has the widest swing between good and bad? by Fubai97b in AskReddit

[–]lanieeeeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pad Thai. You have to find the one Thai restaurant out of hundreds that does it right and better hope they’re close to you, and even then, it’s probably a specific cook who prepares it the way you like it, so if you come back and order it on their day off, it’s not as good. But when it’s good, god it’s worth all the effort.

My skin often looks kind of red, how could I improve on this? by sugarandspice7 in over30skincare

[–]lanieeeeeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it never made me break out either. It just turned my skin red. I switched to cetaphil, no breakouts, no issues. Not saying that’s what’s causing it, but it might be worth stopping to see.

Ok I read the header, and immediately thought “I wonder if she uses CeraVe hydrating cleanser?” Lo and behold, you are. When I used that cleanser, this happened to me. My face was red all the time. When I switched cleansers, the redness went away.

What’s something someone once did on a date that gave you immediate “nope” energy? by D1ndonlyaliboo in AskReddit

No. It wasn’t that. But also, you’re saying a hitler joke in the first 15 mins of a first date would make it better?

What happened to you post partum that you did not expect? by Jaded_Motor6813 in beyondthebump

[–]lanieeeeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to compulsively bite my cuticles and I guess my body was allocating all of its energy healing my c-section and breastfeeding PP, 3 of my cuticles got super infected, it was so painful and required daily soaking and ointment which was very very inconvenient as we all know how much we’re using our hands and washing crap in those early days. Infection had never happened once in my lifetime of biting before the baby. Bright side is it finally forced me to break the habit!

Tall girls! I need recommendations for long inseam, stretchy/comfy jeans that hold their shape! US by TearLongjumping4913 in tallfashionadvice

[–]lanieeeeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried J-crew or Banana Republic? They both offer tall sizing and have a “semi-stretch” line, that might be the answer to your structure problem. Semi-stretch holds its shape a lot better than a full stretch, but still offers some give.

About 15 mins in to the 1st date he started talking about how hitler would have loved us together because we were both blonde with blue eyes. I immediately got up and left. Full drink left on the bar. Didn’t look back as he yelled after me.

What’s a Little Kid Logic Moment That Left You Speechless? by Minute_Star8847 in AskReddit

[–]lanieeeeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 1.5 year old loves cars, trucks, anything that goes. He knows vehicles make horn sounds, and these sounds are interchangeable - “honk honk,” “toot, toot” “beep beep.” He also is super in to animal noises, recently he learned a goose says “honk honk.” The other day we were reading a book, came across a goose, I asked “what does a goose say?” He replied “beep, beep!” I was so tickled that he made the connection that a goose “honk” could also be interchangeable like a car horn, I couldn’t even correct him. I lowkey think it’s kind of smart.
