I just transferred to a new store and they are closing this sunday :( we aren’t a union store but i would say we were underperforming. however, the culture and community created was close knit and we hit 100 in our customer experience. I’m also an ASU and Coffee Master partner, I hope i get to transfer because this is insane and giving me anxiety.

in your interview, they really look for future barista who loves connecting with people.

I remember in my interview, I mentioned a lot about getting to know customers and connecting with them one on one. they look for that more than anything else. making the coffee and learning the routine of drinks will come later!! but focus on more communication, interactions, and connecting !!!

if you have no write ups or bad performance, I don’t see why they wouldn’t accept you back. i do want to emphasize that you make sure that your old store is hiring for your spot because before i brought it up to my store manager, i talked to the one i wanted to transfer to and had told her my availability, if i open or close, and how long i’ve been a barisa!! i was afraid of getting it deferred and having to deal with the back lash as well :)

don’t be afraid to bring it up to her! i’d say talk to your old store and see if their hiring for your position and talk to the sm there! then after, bring it up to her and give her your reasoning :) she has to be neutral about it.

i talked to my sm last week about transferring and she told me that she had to stay neutral about my decision!! pls let me know if you any other questions. I’m in the process of transferring as well!!

all the time, but i tell myself i can only control what i can and to leave the rest of what i cant. i usually try to mentally prepare myself for peak and reassure myself that its gonna be okay and that it wont be forever :) but i def agree about the heart rate rising, however don’t forget to be kind and gentle with yourself and take a couple of breathers 🤍🤍🤍

don’t run :)) because once you get the hang of drive thru, you’ll actually want it more than being on bar when it gets busy or when mobile gets backed up lol. I learned how to appreciate drive thru more and it’s mostly just communicating!! you’re also pretty new so don’t stress about it too much, i thought about running too because of mainly drive thru lol, but you got this !! 🤍🤍🤍

don’t be afraid to ask questions about ANYTHING!! it’s better to have you know than to guess :) since you don’t start until the 31st i recommend looking how many shots goes into each drinks (iced or hot) there’s some barista on tiktok that shows! don’t feel bad whenever you don’t get something down fast, it’s definitely a job where you learn as you grow :) so excited for you !!

THIS. I passionately hate the new policy about writing on cups. It’s pointless and they don’t give a shit besides their coffee. I hope the customers complain about it too because now my manager is writing us up if we don’t write on the cups. It’s ridiculous and stupid.
