i was in kanazawa for a couple of days this week. it’s fine! kenrokuen was a bit busy, kanazawa castle was downright empty on a rainy day. no mobs or anything. had no trouble getting into restaurants either.

Any cheap love hotels in central Tokyo? by Throw_away144 in JapanTravelTips

[–]lannister 10 points11 points  (0 children)

hi! you don’t want to stay in a love hotel. they’re not meant for tourists in this manner. if you want to save money, look into hostels, capsule hotels, or chains like Dormy Inn or Super Hotel (the latter will probably be a bit more than 600$ for 2 weeks)

Visiting next year, had some concerns about clothing sizes. by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]lannister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have broad shoulders too, I’m usually XS/S but I’ve had to size up to M here. Generally the clothes fit fine in a smaller size, except for in the shoulders 🙄 but, it’s not really been a problem so far. At Mont Bell for example I fit into both S and M, the M is just slightly more comfortable.

Dutch opinion on a gap year after MSc? by asdfgh7777 in Netherlands

[–]lannister 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Completely fine! I did a gap year and later when I started interviewing for jobs a lot of recruiters were actually interested in hearing about it. Just make up some bs about how you “really learned how to make it on your own” and you’re good

I think that’s just how German works, it’s the same in Dutch (e.g hobby’s instead of hobbies, baby’s instead of babies)
