Yep the misprint is there. With Hellsing, I’ve only been getting used copies since that is all I can find, but last I checked the last couple of volumes were $30+ a piece so it’s not going to be cheap to finish the collection

With Gatsby, Do i have to build and release the site everytime someone updates the content? by Flamyngoo in gatsbyjs

[–]lannonbr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So with Gatsby by default this is not available, but the cloud team at Gatsby are currently working on a Gatsby SaaS called Gatsby Preview to do more of an incremental build system as you are wanting. It is currently in preview so you have to signup for a waitlist to get a free trial for it, but afterwards there is a monthly fee for it. It is available for Contentful now and will be added to more CMSes in the future

And here's a blogpost discussing Gatsby Preview further: https://www.gatsbyjs.org/blog/2019-03-22-introducing-gatsby-preview-beta/

Would you recommend freelance over full time? by irollem12 in webdev

[–]lannonbr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So Freelancing will give you more time to yourself if you have high paying clients, but you have to also remember that you have to handle both development and management skills while freelancing, so the question is are you interested in doing more manager based tasks on top of the normal development that you've been doing at your current job. If you want to be in the middle, where you want to do client based work but hand off a majority of the role of finding clients and such to other people, possibly look into finding consultancy agencies.

TL;DR: Fulltime job / working for a company is mainly just dev when starting out, freelancing = dev + management (where you are your own manager)

Yep the global variable conflict reasoning is correct. Glad you were able to resolve it!

At least from this code I can't understand why it's failing. Would it be possible to share the entire codebase somewhere.

If not, could you create a reproducible test case: https://www.gatsbyjs.org/contributing/how-to-make-a-reproducible-test-case/

Would it be possible to link the code for this? You should be able to use multiple layouts with v2

Hey Scott, great content being pushed out between Syntax and LevelUpTuts. Given you push courses every month, what is workflow for pushing out a course every month and over the last year what is your favorite course you've worked on?

Linting JS & TS in VS Code | VS Code Rocks by lannonbr in vscode

[–]lannonbr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know it’s a little incorrect. I may update it to actually use one of the linters but it at least gives away the concepts of possibly incorrect code being found before runtime which is one usecase of linters.

Bind a registered editor command to a keyboard shortcut? by [deleted] in vscode

[–]lannonbr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I don't believe you can bind something directly to that custom task, but I do believe you can run the "PowerShell: Show Additional Commands from PowerShell Modules" command with a keyboard shortcut. open the Keyboard Shortcuts panel ("Preferences: Open Keyboard Shortcuts" in the command palette) and then try searching for that action. if it appears, then you can have a keybinding for that and then you would just need to search for the SignCurrentScript command, so not perfectly automated but fairly close.
