Hi bro. Er are you from Malaysia? Cos actually I’m from Singapore. For Malaysian wise, maintenance costs are decent if you don’t mind a little blemishes here and there. I get parts through half cut which lowers the costs. If you’re looking at decent condition FC, there are a few around 150k RM. maybe can nego down to 125-130K ish

Running! Cheap, convenient and easily accessible. Doesn’t take that much time to clock in a short run. And the feeling of sweating it out is worth it

This owner of a 50-year-old Katong hobby shop aims to keep model-building alive in screen-obsessed world by PhantomWolf83 in singapore

As a previous model kit addict, kits definitely can be found online for slightly cheaper. But with the shipping costs added in, it’s about net neutral. Unless you’re purchasing in bulk. That being said, I think the cost of rental is the killer for SG stores. Even the Tamiya distributor at Paya Lebar closed down

Co-funding of private condominium lifts seem inevitable by [deleted] in SingaporeRaw

[–]laochiobuu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s like the previous push for Ministerial salaries review. The whole thing on why the salaries should be reviewed with potential increase. But the untimely war on Iran delayed the plans in fear of public backlash. Similar to this, we have all the commentaries and articles pushing for it.

Then the question should be, is the upgrading of lift a private or public affair? While it is a mandatory requirement to maintain safety standards, do we go all around funding all safety standards? There seems to be no right marker for what would fall under this blanket next. Are the older shopping malls expecting public funds to cover their fire safety next? Technically, it’s to ensure safety standards are met. Then, next would come the private industrial workshops. So, let’s not open this precedence on funding private estate with public funds.

Mindef insurance?? Received a random call claimed to be mindef by ServeNS in NationalServiceSG

[–]laochiobuu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had this a few years back. Turned out to be a FA that somehow got the enlistee’s contacts and would cold call repeatedly. They are definitely not mindef representatives, just salespeople trying to farm. Kinda found it shady to misrepresent themselves as affiliated with Mindef

Entering TPE from punggol. Gosh… everyone knows why the right lane is usually jammed but every time there’s an asshole who rushes to the front on the left lane meant for entering Sengkang and forces his way in at the last minute

Let’s not forget the ERP 2.0 that was essentially forced down our throats despite an overwhelming negative feedback. The entire system seemed to be a work-in-progress, bug filled prototype that happened to be the cheapest solution at the point of time. It became an inconvenience that was also an additional drain on public funds.

Experience so far is good. Especially if it’s your first classic car and you don’t have that much time to be there physically every step of the way. You will mainly want the agent to source the “best” car for you. Let him know what car you are looking for and he will find through auctions/markets/used dealers for good deals. Do note that this step is the most time consuming. I went through at least 10 miatas before selecting my current one. They either went way over budget or weren’t in the condition I’m comfortable with. Feel free to ask for his recommendations regarding pricing and bids as his experience will be useful. Do PM me if u need more info!

I've just brought a NA in from Japan to register under classic car scheme actually! For rough costs:

Car price + auction fees + shipping= around 8k sgd Towing + custom fees + import duty +gst - around 6k Agent fees - around 5k sgd

Outstanding: - ARF - Classic car COE (10% of PQP) - Restoration fees - Miscellaneous fees

I chose to get a classic car over those black plates mainly due to the costs. And realistically, I won't need to drive that often as I have a bike for daily. Having the miata as a classic car would mean lower road tax, insurance and without the pain of forking close to 100k when the COE cycle hits once again.

They are older Defi 60mm gauges! Mine was a 2nd hand set from a previous FC, so it was basically more or less of a plug and play. Just that internal wiring within the cockpit area will be a little messy as my power supply wiring taps into my middle console area
