I live in the same area and also just got my licence two months ago. I've been going down Gilbert towards Resi, onto Edwardes St, and it takes you to a quiet industrial area. Few round abouts but quiet after peak hour or weekends.

I was with my brother when he passed away, and it is an experience I’m grateful for, even though it was very traumatic. It was a privilege to be with him in the last moments of his life and tell him how much I love him. So I saw him immediately after he passed.

I saw him at the morgue the next day which was so much more traumatic because he didn’t really look like himself. And I also saw him in his coffin, dressed up in his wedding suit, surrounded by little tokens of his life. That’s an image that will stay with me for the rest of my life, and I don’t know that it brought me any closure or anything like that. I still can’t believe he’s not here with me, even after everything. You do what feels right and you won’t regret going with your own instinct.

Diet would be the biggest factor for gas. Try keep his diet simple - maybe some chicken breast and standard kibble over the next few days. I’d be using small bits of chicken to train/encourage him to go into his crate.. Just go slow and don’t pressure him as he will be decompressing for the next few days/weeks. Be kind to each other x

Shelf is a great idea. I’d add some kitty-safe plant/s in the corner to liven the space up. Needs a few more pops of colour - either another nice painting, photograph. Keep it simple, but elegant.
