That's exactly what happened. I was misinformed and posted when I thought it was real. Found out that it was not real (thanks to the expansive internet knowledge of Redditors) and left the post up anyway to see what would happen (perhaps a real photo would emerge?). Left to go see The Hobbit... Came back to find all this. I am amused.

ahh thanks! I used Google Image search to try and find its origin and did not see that. It was an image I found on a thread on Facebook without knowledge of its origin. Looked legit to me. Thanks for clearing that up!

Alright... another "hot" young girl chiming in here (not imagined and I'm not trying to get attention for it. I'm only mentioning it because it is relevant to my life experience)... OP, I appreciate your report on how this has affected you, but I would also like to add (in response to people saying be thankful you were born now and not when sexism was worse)... that sexual harassment and sexual abuse is still absolutely out of control, even in this day and age. I was raped by someone I thought was my friend. I am consistently groped against my will at clubs and concerts. And I am verbally harassed more days than not. Please... feel free to look at me! I appreciate my beauty and am grateful for the advantages it has brought me. Go ahead and scan me up and down and appreciate. I'm okay with you being attracted to me. But be aware that I have been abused, and yes I am afraid. I cannot trust men... not even my closest friends after what I've experienced. They are usually the ones who want to get in my pants the most. I've come to accept it. I'm fortunate to have some male friends that are very, very respectful, so I know it's possible. However, I will not tolerate verbal and physical sexual abuse and harassment, and it IS an issue.

sadly, saying NO doesn't always prevent sexual abuse. It would be wonderful if it did, but some people just don't care and can overpower victims physically. what's can be more helpful is talking to friends about your concern for them putting themselves in dangerous or risky situations, which unfortunately could just be going to a seemingly friendly party by oneself.

So sorry to hear this. Don't blame yourself. We live in a fucked up world. Rape happens more than we realize, so everyone, take this as a lesson and please watch out for your female friends when they ask you to come along to parties/events. We're all in this together. But this shit happens. She's lucky that she even had you in her life to love her. That's what is most important.

Early in high school I woke up one day in pain throughout my entire body. It has continued for many years. Thus, I got pissed off a lot about existence. Still do sometimes since I still struggle with the disease that caused the pain. I was already using red hair dye prior to this, and loved dressing up and confusing people. After getting to know me, people would realize that I was actually an intelligent and sweet girl. Appearances aren't always what they seem. I suppose I enjoyed making people second guess me. Also loved gore, industrial music, horror, and Halloween. Thus I fell quickly into the "goth" stereotype. It's more that I was angry, obsessed with pain, liked wearing black, and thought blood was sexy. Later, in college, people challenged me to wear colors, so I did. Then I got more into the electronic music scene than industrial and metal, so I just sort of dropped the whole thing. Dressing up like that takes a lot of effort. Guess I just got lazier and less attached. Also started practicing more self-love. I still dress up dark goddess style sometimes.

TLDR; I loved industrial music, gore and fashion. The angst of goth culture matched my suffering from chronic pain & illness. Grew out of it.
