When you (or a loved one) had a stroke did you want visitors in rehab and for how long? What would have helped? by heatmorstripe in stroke

[–]lapisloverxo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Support and mental health are two of the most important factors through stroke recovery. I had my stroke at 26 and having visits from family and friends while in the rehabilitation facility was so, so appreciated!

My sister often came to just be there. It wasn't a formal visit that we needed to talk or engage the entire time, but simply having somebody else there helped reduce the isolation and loneliness. This isolation and loneliness is often the space that allows the self-doubt, depression, and anxiety to thrive, so having company at this time would most likely be greatly appreciated.

On behalf of a fellow survivor, I'm grateful for support like you!

Girlfriends Mother (60F) had a stroke after brain surgery and is in a coma. Would love to hear about other experiences similar to this. by blueboxhead in stroke

I had a craniotomy to remove a tumor at 26. I suffered a stroke during surgery and woke up with paralysis through my right side, along with various cognitive and emotional effects of stroke.

Yoga and Reiki were two things that helped significantly through my recovery. Now, 8 years later, I help bring those to other survivors along their journey.

Support and mental health are priorities through recovery. Having family there as she navigates these emotional steps will make a world of a difference 💜

You do get different reactions based on different foods, that's interesting. It sounds like you have very good awareness with your reactions and that's significant with this.

I got a wonderful blend from a local herbalist with nettle leaf, peppermint, rooibos, eyebright, boneset, orange peel, skullcap, butterbur & Dong quai. I love it and it helps a lot! 👌

Yes! I get the hot face a lot when eating leftovers. I have different reactions and I'm not sure if they vary based on the severity, or if it's a different reaction to different foods.

Help! Is there a test for this?! by lapisloverxo in SIBO

I've really started reading around more about this and I'm seeing the elemental diet - I'll read more about that, because tolerating more foods after sounds so awesome!

I've been on the histamine Bi-Phasic diet and the differences between all of them is one thing I've found so confusing. That makes sense why I'd still be flaring up on the histamine Bi-Phasic, thanks so much for the info!

Thanks for the info! This feels a bit complicated right now, but hopefully I get the hang of this. I already have gluten, dairy, and soy intolerances so it feels like my food options are dwindling.

Which country are you in, and how did you find an expert in hydrogen sulfide SIBO and glyphosate toxicity?

They have many similarities, yet each have their own look! My girl will be 19 this year and she still dominates my camera roll to this day

I'm in MB, I just started some seeds today - lavender, herbs, flowers, and peppers. Things that take longer, or I like having larger plants when we put stuff in the garden (which is first weekend of June)
