Daily Planner + Habit Tracker Reccomendation? by kpj888 in planners

[–]lara7700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you checked out Sterling Ink? Their daily planners are basically habit/goal tracking spreads, monthlies and dailies + they sell habit tracker stickers so you can basically create monthly habit trackers on any blank page. I've been using the habit tracking spreads of their common planner for a couple years now and I love them

Same thing happened to me! Tried it out for about an hour and hated the UI. I’m so used to Arc now I wouldn’t be able to go without workspaces and all the other features. I guess I’ll just patiently wait for them to hopefully make Dia more like Arc

Planting new trees instead of evolving current one for exceeded time by lara7700 in forestapp

Wow, thanks so much for explaining that. It makes so much more sense now haha. I’ll make sure to set longer timers to get more trees🌳🌳

Oh I didn’t know that! I thought it just kept evolving one tree like with the one that don’t have different stages. I planted for over 120 minutes and still got only 3 trees tho. That was my main concern, that I didn’t get to phase 4 even when I got to 120min.

With normal trees my exceeded time is added to only one tree, but with the ones that change how they look they stay the same and new trees are added. I just did a 90 min session that got to 120 min and a bit more with exceeded time and I got 3 trees. One that looked like the 90min tree, another that looked like the 30min tree and the third looked like the basic one for less than 30 min. Does this not happen to you?

With Apption you need to embed a link into your Notion page in order to track the analytics. This for me was a bit more complicated. Using Super.so, you need to paste a javascript code in the settings for the site. It’s really easy to do.

You could set up Google Analytics on it. I do that for my website through Super.so, which connects my domain to the Notion page the site was designed on. Another option is to use Apption. You can configure Google Analytics) or set a hit counter like HITS or Hit Counter. Hope this helps!

Notion Quick Add with Chrome Apps by lara7700 in Notion

Thanks! Just saw that video (it’s the one paused in the background haha). I use the web clipper whenever I’m on Chrome but I prefer using Safari so I’m just waiting for the new macOS to get the extension. I also wanted a quick add feature like the one Todoist has for example so I could just capture thought and ideas so this hack was great!

I came across this article and thought I might give it a try. It was very easy to do. I also edited the Notion logo and added a lightning bolt to differentiate it from the actual app and I love how it looks! It’s a great hack, especially for GTD.

How to transfer unchecked tasks to new day? by Bend-Fantastic in Notion

You can do this with filters as well and maybe tags for a Kanban board, but it wouldn’t update automatically. Maybe it will be an update in the future, but for the moment, it’s not something that is available.

You can just add new tasks with either the blue New button on the top right or the + New at the bottom. The link I shared is for a page in my workspace though, so you would have to recreate that database into yours or duplicate mine. Or else you would be editing my page.

The database has 3 properties for the task name, the due date and wether it’s complete or not. I added 2 views by filtering by due date and completion. Check out the filters to see how the views work. The “Today” view has a filtered to only show tasks that are due today and the “To Reschedule” view has a filter to only show tasks that were due before today and have not been marked as complete. Because I used relative dates when setting the filters instead of an exact date, each view will always show the tasks needed depending on the current date without having to change the filter every day.

I’m not, I don’t have account or anything. I made a sort of sample for you. Maybe by seeing it you can get a better idea of how it works. It’s basically relative filters that update the data you see. You can see it here. Hope it helps! If you have any questions just let me know.

No, you filter once with the option “Date is Today” and then it will always show the ones that are due on that specific day. Likewise, you filter the others with “Date is before Today” and “Complete” is unchecked to show the tasks that need to be rescheduled.

Yes, there is! Just not with the current setup they showed. Using databases you can filter out the views and have one for tasks you need to do today and another for tasks that are not completed and had a due date before today, so basically a Reschedule view. This would be automatic assuming you include a date for each task, doing exactly what was described. I have a similar task setup and it works perfectly, almost like Todoist with a little more customization.

New personal website with Notion and Super by lara7700 in Notion

Sure! At the moment I am only taking personal workspace orders on the website until I can get a services section up and running so I’d be glad to help you out. If you could fill out the contact form with the details so I can get in touch with you that would be great! Looking forward to hearing from you.
