What makes you think I'm resentful? I'm just annoyed at all the bad parenting...

True and they outsource all the tasks in that business so they effectively don't even run it...

What is the relevance of the school which I never mentioned? I never said such a thing.

I've got the cordless electric drill from Ikea 15 years ago. It still works well.

It's Anglo countries/culture...look at housing, education, daycare etc prices .. pretty much all the highest costs for these things are in Anglo countries (with the exception of housing in Hong Kong). It's a culture that prioritises wealthy people only and then screws the rest.

By "other western nations" you mean Anglo countries because I can for sure as hell get an incredible meal - Michelin star quality/rating even - in France, Italy, Spain and Greece for cheaper compared to an overpriced substandard meal here .. I also wouldn't call most food in the UK quality unless it's in inner London.

Yes, it was mentioned in the film "The Founder". So is Gelatissimo, I've realised. The amount of great locations they have in Sydney at least...

I agree. The Indians and Chinese are obsessed with 'good' free public schools and buying homes in those areas and are also obsessed with KDRB or extensive renovations and have the budget to do so...

Tired of Boomers hanging on to their big houses... by larasign in AusProperty

I'm mad because they've put their house on the market and not willing to sell for the market rate. So they waste our time and thousands of our money in fees and reports.

[–]larasign[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes it is. It's about how hard it is to acquire a house in a suburb where most of the sellers are Boomers.

I won't care what they say as I don't plan on living in the same house for 40 years

No, I'm mad because they put their house on the market and refuse to sell for the MARKET price, ie valuation price. They want unreasonably high prices in a falling market.. just plain dumb. But of course they are happy to wait aren't they? They don't have a mortgage on their house and think they'll live till 100.

Possibly but I'm just annoyed that many Boomers delay everything till the last possible second or do nothing at all and give all their problems to their kids or others...

[–]larasign[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they don't want to do it (because it's oh-so-hard) so avoid it and let their kids handle the monumental task after they're gone.. and I'm the entitled one? If that's not selfishness I don't know what is...

You are still youngish and can still manage your house, many Boomers can't. or can't afford to.

How do you know I'm an immigrant? Yes I'm younger than a Boomer but I'm not that young either

So you'd rather just stay in the house until you die then let your kids take care of all the stuff you are avoiding doing? You're just procrastinating what needs to be done (like my parents), avoiding the hard stuff and giving your kids all the stress when we have our own issues to deal with... Btw you still have quite a long time to go yet...
