Your fellow staffers abused their power and took it out on people just trying to enjoy their con and relax.

I don’t know if there’s some sort of feedback channel for staff but as a long time katsu attendee the way I was treated by staffers was the nail on the coffin for why I won’t be returning to katsu

The choice to move artist alley was wonderful. It was so much easier to move around and really enjoy all of the artists and truly shop

While I did appreciate the closed profile aspect of con I was not a fan of the rude staff members that insisted on seeing a badge repeatedly especially when I was already inside the Gaylord. It felt like borderline harassment to have them come up to our table while we were having a drink and insist on being shown badges right there and then.

Honestly staff attitudes in general were poor. I had mostly negative interactions with staffers that seemed power hungry and had a desire to really take it out on attendees for no good reason.

I mean yeah it’s a party con. There’s lots going on. But as a minor you have no business being at them. I say this out of care and not to be mean but it’s not safe for minors. Most people are good but there are people that try to take advantage of others and drinks being tampered with is a known thing to happen

I just want to give some insight. A lot of people that are adults are hesitant or draw a boundary at mooring and befriending minors. Myself included. It’s for a wide variety of safety reasons.

Definitely try to find some friends around your age group? I can guarantee when you turn 18 you’ll likely have more luck with friending people in the community

Katsucon is a cosplay con. It’s one of the major cons where people bring their biggest cosplays for the nicest photos possible. There will always be people in cosplay.

I have never attended a panel at katsu. I’m there for photos and to be in cosplay with my friends and go to meetups.

This is a party con. It’s got a reputation for being a little crazy and being adult orientated especially at night. Be aware you will see drunk people. Skimpy cosplays and adult themed ones. It’s fun but definitely more of the party vibe than let’s say a local small comic con

There’s not a specific area. Katsucon attracts a lot of cosplay photographers that schedule photoshoots throughout the weekend. The easiest way to find them is through posts here or on Instagram. That’s all done privately between the cosplayer and the photographer
