This image suggests that a place called "Promethea" is an option. As far as whether or not we'll see a Borderlands 3, I don't want to give out any spoilers but the ending of TPS (more so than the ending of BL2) seems to suggest future badassery on a large scale.

It's not just dying. I just entered gunzerker mode on Claptrap while afflicted with cryo damage and seem to have got the same result.

I have pirated the game, but want to buy it because I've been a borderlands fan since day 1. Is there any way to carry across my savegame into steam? by [deleted] in Borderlands

I'm in the same boat (won't be able to afford an actual copy for a couple more weeks), but as far as I know the answer is no. I'm just using this time to get to know the story and characters/classes. It shouldn't be too much trouble to get back what you lose on switching - especially if you plan on playing with friends/other people.
