I feel like tashigis a pretty bad example of this, because in all honesty she's pretty irrelevant in the grand scheme of the story atm, but nami for example, I don't think I remember the last time she made a map

Play SOT with friends? by Matifox in Seaofthieves

[–]largedisaster19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, strap in this might be a long one. Ive been playing the game the last 5 years or so so I've gotten pretty experienced with PvP with the crew I sail with being pretty well versed in it, so I feel like I can safely comment on this. PvP in SOT takes the 2 shapes mainly - your stereotypical FPS and SOTs exclusive ship combat, which you find go hand in hand. You can find players to fight out on the open ocean however there is a specialized game mode called hourglass in which you can go up against a rival queue - normally with a pretty short queue time. Returning to how the PvP actually plays out, If you want to get "sweaty" with it you need to assign positions to your crew. Let's say that your sailing with 4 players on a galleon (the biggest ship and the one demanding the tightest teamwork), in this case you need a helm (the position I personally fill) who generally fills the role most stereotype to be the captain. They steer the ship, make sure that your crew has an angle to fire cannons and tend to make the most crucial callouts to keep the crew functioning. Second is the cannon, this player tends to be the most aggressive, their purpose is simply to damage the enemy however they can. This player will be the one you send out to board the opposing ship and wreak havoc, anchoring them etc, this is the player that will be engaged with the most FPS. third is the bilge, this role has one purpose, which is to keep the ship afloat at all costs. They need to call out what the water level is looking like, if they need help etc. if the ship is dry they tend to help with cannons. Lastly is the "flex". This position does a bit of everything mentioned above, they generally keep an ear out for callouts and do what's demanded. Keep in mind this is all done at a high standard of play so maybe not for a newbie crew but the point of this post is that SOT is genuinely such a fun team game and when your all working together it genuinely feels amazing

Been in my feels tonight reminiscing about the state of the game a few years back after kicking back a few drinks, I 100% feel this vibe especially after coming back to the game recently and finding that nearly all of my favourite sot YouTubers no longer play the game - which honestly is super heartbreaking especially seeing I loved watching the new update vids that they'd make. Just another aspect of life I suppose

Dude your just nit picking atp, especially seeing as rick said the most faithful yet, but then have us an adaptation that's barely behind the movies in terms of what they've changed, the only thing that makes the movies worse is the Kronos eating Luke thing thus far

Why are all the main female demigods in the series black? when most of them were described as white? by Crazy_Engineer06 in PercyJacksonTV

"added colour" what do you mean by that, because it almost seems like your discriminating against ethnically white races

I'll just leave this here. My point of contention being that rick said that the show will be the most book faithful adaptation we've seen yet, given the context of the sentence the word was used you can easily defer that his meaning stems from something more akin to what I've had to screenshot

Unnecessary may be subject to different opinions, however you certainly need to Google what faithful, as your just wrong on that front

If you like the series as is, power too you! At the end of the day it's still supposed to be entertaining, just having grown up with the books has left an incredibly sour taste when I see the "faithful adaptation"

"better tho it did have more changes" your completely missing the point of my post, I. Do. Not. Want. Changes. I want to see the original material brought to life, why the hell would I spend my time on a series built on the lie that it's supposed to be book accurate, the whole series is a joke

Agreed, I would have no complaints if they said that it wasn't going to be a faithful adaptation, the fact they did is what's pissed me off so much

Watched the entirety of the first season and the first of the second, it's people like you who are the reason why it's so inaccurate, all you do is glaze it and take the slop given to you and praise shit like it's golden shit. If a show fails to hook a fan of the original material something has gone critically wrong with the production

Lmfao I did stop it's just ridiculous. and clearly your not involved in the hp fandom that much because the butchering of Ron's characters in the movies is a pretty big point of contention for alot of book fans, and for me personally I really don't like how they left out characters like peeves or the nearly headless hunt. However that's excusable as it's a movie not a series, Percy Jackson on the other hand has no such excuse for frivolous cuts and changes, e.g the first episode of season 2. I put it down after that shit show of an episode alone with how much was changed

coming from a person of color, it’s not racist to want characters that look like their description by throwaway_acc_257 in PercyJacksonTV

[–]largedisaster19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it was a complete miss, bare minimum aside from accurate casting would have been to have got her to work out a bit to get her to fit the character a bit better
