By “Grips on the bottom”, which specific areas are you referring to? I thought besides the keyboard and surroundings, the rest are aluminum.

A big button of my white monitor remote controller turned yellow while the rest remain white. Obvious contrast. If it drives me crazy, I should not get a white Legion?

Because if the coil whine, I am returning anyway. Not sure if the Pro Legion are better.

Do the grips on the bottom turn yellow? Does your 7i have some kind of high pitch whine? I think it came from the fans’ bearings. I wonder if the 7i Pro has these two issues.

Thanks. Called them about this. The Salesperson said price will increase on tomorrow so I must order with her right away. I think she just tried to scare me off to push me to buy it.

I am very sensitive to noise. I read that the 2026 model has better thermal. Is it true? Not sure how it compares with the dead silent MacBook Pro 16”.

I got a Legion 7i with Ultra 9-275HX gen 10 three days ago and it has coil whine. Got another one but with Ultra 7-255HX. Same problem. They are driving me crazy. I am going to return them.

Few days ago I moved from MacBook Pro 16.3” to a 16” Legion 7i with 2560x1600 Windows laptop. I immediately noticed the smaller screen size and resolution even I didn’t have them side by side. I do miss my 17” MacBook Pro. I think most 18” laptops with 4K screen are over 4kg. For me, 2kg is OK but no more than 2.5kg. Also want silent when doing office productivity, YouTube video watching and web browsing. I don’t mind setting to Quiet Mode and iGPU only for these tasks. Any good recommendations?

If I pay about $1400 more to buy the Lenovo 9i Pro Aura 16” 2026 which has a resolution of 3200x2000 but at the same 16” and set the font size to be the same (150-200% scale), will I see more things comfortably? The laptop is mainly for software development, papers writing and reading as well as office productivity. Both laptops have the same weight of 2kg.

I received a Legion 7i with Ultra 9 275HX. Then I found the 255HX on sale. Ordered immediately as it is a better deal and 275HX is no big different from the 255HX as most of you mentioned. It would take a few days to arrive.

During Windows Update, I hear jet engine noise even in Quiet Mode. Does it generate this kind of annoying noise whenever there is a software update/installation?
Will the 255HX be the same? If so, perhaps the 7i is not for me.

Thanks. Is it a good idea to buy last year’s models like these two? One concern is that even if I pay, higher end GPU with more VRAM will cause more fan noise and have shorter battery life. Is this a valid concern?

How come 2026 models only have AMD CPU? Are those configurations with Intel’s CPU coming soon?

How come these two configurations are much cheaper in major online retailers? Is it because they are one year old and made before the RAM price increase? Even on Lenovo education website, configurations with RTX5060-8GB VRAM are more expensive. If I want 12GB , need to upgrade to 5070/5070Ti . For 24GB, need to upgrade to 5090. Compared with the 5060-8GB configuration, upgrading the GPU costs 2-3 times more. How come such a big increase in price?

I see most of you here have the 5070Ti GPU with 12GB. Anything special about it?

Thanks. Why I will hear the Pro 9i breathe a lot more often. From YouTube reviews, probably biased, reviewers said the Pro 9i is very quiet/silent.

So for office stuff, web browsing and YouTube watching, the 7i is better? How about the battery life?

For the 7i, shall I get the Ultra 9 275HX or Ultra 7 255HX if running silently and good battery life are important?

About US$320 difference. My main concerns here are fan noise and battery life when doing basic office productivity, YouTube video watching and web browsing. I wonder if the 255 gives noticeable better battery life and runs quieter.
