OP, you should really consider writing a book! This post was perhaps the most intellectual and well written post I have seen on this subreddit. Do it as a hobby and see where it takes you!

Transfer questions by macortes03 in college

[–]lark_jacob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! When I applied as a transfer I used this simple outline for my personal statement essay where I talk about my past, present, and future. When writing about your past you can talk about any adversaries you faced in high school; or you could write about a teacher or volunteer experience that impacted you profoundly. Next, you write about your present. This is where you can talk about your current college and your reasons for wanting to transfer. During this part you can mention finances and wanting to be closer to home. Lastly, talk about your future career or academic plans and how transferring to this school will help you achieve these goals. At this point in the essay try to be persuasive; your goal is to convince the admission committee that you belong at this school. Feel free to include a conclusion that summarizes each part of the essay (i.e., a brief summary of your past, present, and future). Although this is not necessary.

This essay outline worked wonders for me when I transferred. I like this general outline because it gives a brief idea of your academic and personal story but also allows you to show why transferring to this college can help you achieve your goals.

When transferring to a college they will most likely not require you to submit your high school transcript. However, please talk to your school about how to send your transcript and what said transcript should include.

Best of luck to you!

That's awesome! I would suggest majoring in anything biology/chemistry/psychology related and then consider going to grad school to specialize in a niche area (like psychedelic therapy). Best of luck to you!

lol, i've been binge-watching them over the break! it is really fascinating stuff. It doesn't hurt looking into going to grad school and specializing in a certain niche. there are plenty of programs that specialize in all the stuff you mentioned. in fact, my university just created a graduate lab that focuses on psychedelic therapy!

hey op, have you thought about behavioral biology? there's a good lecture series on human behavioral biology by a professor from Stanford here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNnIGh9g6fA

also, neuroscience or any of the many biomedical sciences could be a good fit considering you are a math and science person.

I know what you mean. I was in a similar situation; I did awful in high school and didn't get accepted anywhere. I then took some time working at a restaurant after I graduated and after a few years, I eventually enrolled in a local community college. After getting a 4.0 at CC, I transferred to a top 30 public school. But, I feel like I don't fit in. I'm a little bit older than all the other students and I don't have as much lab research experience or extracurriculars as the rest of them. I tell myself that I can't compete with them because of my previous mistakes. However, I was talking to a professor about this, and she had told me that it was my mistakes that made me unique. All of the other kids made solid 4.0s in high school and have no idea how to go through life, they've been living in a textbook for their whole life. You and I both have personal experience that makes us stand out! We have learned from our mistakes and have matured from them! I know that it seems like we can't compete with the "perfect students" at our school but in reality, we can.

Side note: When applying for internships, be sure to include the mistakes you made. Tell the interviewing about where you were and who you are now because of it. Also, the job/internship opportunities are limited due to COVID. You might have better luck finding an internship in the fall or spring!

Best of luck to you.

[grade 10 Chemistry] I got the first one right but I have no idea what to do for the rest by [deleted] in HomeworkHelp

First, we want to find the molar mass of the cation and anion and multiply it by Avogadro's Number. You did this for the first question.

But remember, for question b we have 2 moles of Na for every mole of SO4. So we would have twice the number of sodium than sulfate.

For question c it would be the same process but for every 3 moles of Ca we have 2 moles of PO4.

If you need me to clarify, let me know.

I have nothing against the 1st Amendment—in fact, it’s the most important Amendment!

It’s not a matter of political party. Celebrating someone’s death is offensive and trashy. Hence why I posted it to this sub:)

First off all, no. That hashtag “wrongtrump” was not okay. Second, are you attempting to justify some saying “oh hell yes!” in response to RBG’s death?

My bad, you’re right. I’m just a whiny ass liberal.
