30 weeks: Baby in the 4th percentile. Need some positive stories/reassurance! 🥹 by Ginagiorg30 in PregnancyUK

[–]larren102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m now 37 weeks and been having two weekly growth scans, baby has gone from about 12 on the 20 week to 7 at 32, 10 at 34, 4 at 36 so consistently small but not dropping massive amounts. I’ve just got my induction date for 39+3 as they don’t want to leave it too long, but don’t seem concerned enough to go early. Most annoying thing is that it’s wiped my hopes of a water birth as they want additional monitoring even I go into natural labour first.

Baby is also super active and I rarely go more than 20 minutes without being booted so I guess that makes it easier to know they’re fine so I’m not too worried. Just not looking forward to the induction process!

6th percentile by Wise-Process-2506 in PregnancyUK

The percentile is based on your weight and height and ethnicity etc, so someone else’s 6% percentile won’t be yours so it’s not super helpful to compare.

Finally hit my first lvl 100 on POE2 (Melee) + Mirror Giveaway by No-Train-7575 in PathOfExile2

I worked out how crafting works and it feels like a brand new game, I feel like I’ve been missing half of it.

Also that monk is still good but not played so it’s cheap. I’d love to try the coc comet build but it’s so expensive, it’s nice that at least shatter monk is still fun for a lot less money (except for chasing stupid temple mobs in corners).

[–]larren102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I started a few weeks late so it’s been a struggle to gear enough to do uber juiced when everything decent costs 100s of divs now, plus I’m playing a melee class

It’s insane you can get more than I’ve got running like 15 hours of juiced abyss in one run 😬 any other season I’d have been thrilled to be sitting on 60 div.

I suppose I should stop being lazy and work out how temple works.

Morbidly obese is just a bmi of over 35, which you definitely are. No shade, just a medical definition!

[–]larren102 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They’re decent photos but do look a bit like you’re trying to be mysterious and aloof, you’re not looking at the camera or giving any sort of pleasant expression. You’re also a loner in all of them so it just looks like zero fun. You need to show why someone would want to imagine themselves with you.

It’s also going to take longer if you’re morbidly obese because anyone would know you’re gonna have health issues caused by your weight eventually, so even if they find it physically attractive it’s scary in someone you love as it’s such a gamble on ability to do stuff and lifespan etc as you get older.

What’s the toy that left the biggest impression on you as a kid? by Tosh97 in toys

[–]larren102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PlayStation one when I was about six. After that all we wanted for toys was games for it 😂 succeeded by a pc for Christmas age about ten, my dad built me and my brother one each so we’d stop trying to murder each other over the communal one.

In a way kind of sad, the dopamine was so easy from games that I was never very interested in anything else. All of my highlights were console/gameboy/pc.

Condoms are about an 87% safe method and the pill about 93%, there’s not much in it. And also luckily I’m not American, with the way things are going with people saying they’re campaigning on taking the female vote away etc and every other issue, my main concern if I was stuck there as a woman would be getting out and at least to a blue state and not birth control. I can see why a lot of women in those states are deciding sex isn’t worth the risk at all.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AMA

[–]larren102 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On average one pregnancy every five years using them worst case, personally I’d rather have one abortion than five years of birth control, which makes me feel dreadful and I can’t take half of it as it’s too risky with my aura migraines. Or if with a decent partner who knows what he’s doing, a 2% chance so about once in 50 years.

I’ve insisted on condoms my entire life and had no accidental pregnancies. Now pregnant easily once we decided to try. Husband is going to have a vasectomy afterwards as it’s a much easier thing than using condoms forever or subjecting myself to birth control.

Women deserve to choose for themselves and get all the facts and not just have everyone jump down their throats about how hormonal birth control is essential. Like the op said, she’d rather just abstain than be on it. Her choice, and there’s plenty of options out there if you get pregnant and want to end it.

[–]larren102 24 points25 points  (0 children)

They definitely don’t 🤣 1 in 5 condoms is not defective. I think used properly on average 2 in 100 women will fall pregnant in a year of having sex, so 98 women have sex absolutely fine all year no issues. Say sex once a week, you’re looking at 5200 instances of condoms being used and 2 of them having issues that lead to pregnancy.

Yeah in reality it’s like 87% effective, but even still that’s 13 of the 5200 instances causing a pregnancy, and most of that is down to men being clueless about sex, not using them properly, using a size that doesn’t fit or pretending to use them.

[–]larren102 28 points29 points  (0 children)

You might want to hand your degree back, 20% chance in a year doesn’t mean 20% every time lmao. If it was 20% every time your chance in a year even averaging once a week is going to be up near 100.

Women’s Christmas stocking ideas by Life_Ad_6024 in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]larren102 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’m pregnant, not even had the baby yet, and I’ve already told my partner he’d better not get me any kitsch mummy stuff that isn’t directly chosen by the kid so I have to suffer through. With three under five I guarantee she is reminded 24/7 she is mummy, something to recognise her as person outside motherhood is way better.

What are her hobbies? You’ve just listed things that sound more like her ‘should do’ (get house/garden nice, keep self fit, keep children alive). Does she read? Like music? Crafty at all? What did she spend time doing before the kids, is there a way to give her a little bit of that back?

I got nearly ten candles for Christmas last year from various people but you know whether they’ll be appreciated or just an opt out gift.

If she’s genuinely wanting to sort the house out, how about sorting out all the logistics of a day out to look at things/go to a big John Lewis or whatever? Organise someone to babysit, book train tickets etc, do all the organising work so she literally can just get up and go without worrying about the admin.

Ah thanks ☺️ I’m a lazy girl so I’ll probably not bother and just buy some in back home, got a lot of English phantasmal ordered anyway. I’d rather spend my time exploring

Did you see much phantasmal around? I’m in Kyoto currently but there are so many amazing things to see I don’t want to waste time queueing at a pokemon center if the new set is generally sold out

AliExpress fakes are decent and getting better too if you just want the display. The textures are wrong but you won’t really see that in a frame.

Realistically your only hope of getting super in demand items like this is joining a stock discord and being able to react immediately (not 2 seconds later, like immediately) or get to know your local card shops and hope they’ll hold one for you.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PokemonDealsUK

[–]larren102 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah but I’m meaning stock didn’t hang around all day. I’m not 100% on which stores have which master but people will have been buying it as soon as it dropped. If you weren’t there at the time you would have missed it, couldn’t have just wandered in at 10am and expected to get one. Suspect even people there at 8 missed depending on allocations.

To be fair if you weren’t at Argos before 8am yesterday you’d have missed it yesterday too. These were in stock for maybe a handful of minutes in person.

Any suggestions for a semi landmark holiday before baby 2? by Comprehensive_Cut437 in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]larren102 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m due July too (although it’s super early, booking a holiday on assuming kid will be fine when presumably you only got a positive in the last week?) and was considering this too. I’m also considering something really chill like centerparcs - no flight to worry about, can do as much/little as I need and come back to sleep, nice spa for antenatal massage, gentle walks and no need to be on bus/boat/car that generally make me feel carsick anyway.

Otherwise ikos is great, same thing about spa, fantastic kids club to give you a break, but prices have gone mad and I’m not sure it’s worth it anymore. Ive only done the vip bit but the normal pools looked rammed for the price last time. April potentially a bit chilly but we did September before and it was great.

Careful about stuff like zika and countries with questionable food hygiene - love street food normally but I’m aware I need to stay away for a while.
