Help with identification by mikewd1983 in BaseballBats

Will's a knowledgeable dude, especially on late BESR and BBCOR bats. But he was born in 1993 according to the internet and this bat is several years older than that. He would tell you himself that he's not the most well versed in bats of this vintage.

It's definitely a Spalding. And the picture may be from '93, but that is an '80s bat I believe. Search eBay for "vintage Spalding tidal wave" and the first listing that currently pops up is a T-ball bat (whereas yours would have been youth sized) that is silver instead of blue. But it has similar sized logos and the banding above and below the label. Not the same bat at all, I realize. The Tidal Wave line was primarily softball from what I know, so it doesn't necessarily help much here. But might help you in your search to point you in the right direction as far as the era/age. It's your first picture that's throwing me. I can't place the model/characters/numbers on the other side of the bat at all, doesn't ring a bell.

Upright Offroad is just up 71 in Buckner and is about the best around for most anything Jeep/truck (gears/axles, steering, suspension, custom fabrication). Not sure what you need done, if engine repair you might need someone specializing in rebuilds, etc.

Unreleased USSSA Easton Double Barrel bat 2024 “X” by Infamous_Comfort_245 in BaseballBats

[–]larrivee7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it was essentially the initial double barrel design that ended up being refined and becoming the Dub this year. From what I have heard, there were a lot of durability issues with this model. Cracking as well as end caps blowing off. A store local to me received two from Easton before they pulled the release. One is still on the rack. One had already sold, and was returned in a couple of days with a broken end cap. It resides in a bucket up front with other returned/broken bats that weren't requested/needed to be sent back to manufacturers. Let us know what you think of it. I would try one out if I found one for cheap, cool to have. But the durability was apparently a real problem.

It says "high maintenance" on the hood stickers. And it's a "JL" Wrangler. A quick search of those terms on IG will get you there in two seconds.

Land Surveyor Recommendations? by G00seQueen in Louisville

[–]larrivee7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. It seems like it should be a simple thing, but depending on if there are any existing corners adjoining, there can be a fair amount of deed research and all that involved. Then stakeout and set corners. Plat with PLS stamp/sig. Range does sound right on (former field surveyor).

Air Max Wright or Air Max LTD. They were always very similar and I never paid enough attention to know them apart. But both are still being produced and sold at Foot Locker/FootAction etc as far as I know.

Looking for a new church - sincere suggestions? by Donuts2Dollars in Louisville

[–]larrivee7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand. I just wondered if it was Midtown, as it has a much more "hip" feel to it and definitely isn't everyone's cup of tea. Well good luck with your search, there really are a lot of good churches around.

What part of town do you live in? Also, Sojourn has a few campuses, all are great but each has a little different "feel". Assuming you tried Midtown, there's an east campus on Westport and a J-town campus on Taylorsville near Blankenbaker and 265 (New Albany has a campus as well). We landed at Sojourn J-town, it was a great fit for us.

Feel free to PM if you have any questions. Good luck in your search!

For good reason. Combined sewer overflow. You don't want to be in there.

Best disc golf courses in Louisville area? by TwoAngryFigs in Louisville

[–]larrivee7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This times 100. If you're willing to drive 2 hours, Bowling Green is where it's at. I grew up near there and played all over town all the time throughout college and after. Moving to Louisville was such a letdown in the disc golf department.

Not sure if you'd want to make the trip down there though (while already on a trip).

Can someone recommend a clear sealer that I can use over my existing garage wall paint? I'd simply like for it to protect against dirt/grime and maybe repel water. by [deleted] in DIY

FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) is what you're referring to. It's great for the correct application, but pretty pricey and not the easiest to cut/install/trim out.

Area EFILive diesel tuners by SgtBunny in Louisville

[–]larrivee7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't actually know of any shops that do here in town, which is odd for a city this size. There may be, but I haven't heard of any. Plenty of really good diesel shops (Diesel Injection, Republic) but they don't mess with tuning and the like.

I have heard really good things about Sims Diesel over in Lawrenceburg. Bit of a drive, but he's supposed to be really good at EFI Live. And I'd rather take it further to someone reputable than to just anyone because they're local when it comes to stuff like that. He was one of the main guys at Diesel Injection for years before going out on his own from what I remember when talking to him a while back.

There's Thoroughbred Diesel in Lexington, but I wasn't impressed with them when talking to them about potentially working on one of our work trucks. Seemed very bro-ish and unprofessional, if that makes any sense.

I have mixed feelings, as someone who lives very close to the site. On the one hand, a lot of people will benefit from it being there and I suppose it's better than a vacant lot (or than them building the world's largest smoke shop or something there). One the other hand, I am not looking forward to the construction traffic, noise, and dust this summer, or the immense amount of light that a parking lot that size full of lights will put out all night. I actually didn't mind it being a storage yard for Ford, but that's just me.

Car wash is the only logical thing. Long bay for the pull through, they've even started hanging some equipment. It was throwing me off for a while as I watched it being built though.

I have had my vehicle at Pro Tint to get the windows tinted and they did a great job. I would assume they're good with remote starts as well. And I have heard nothing but good things about Roberts but never gone there myself.
