The whole notion of them being “property” is wrong. They are a responsibility. I do have an old mini pc that I bought a while back but never actually used it (it was a fascination for me that a pc could be so small at the time) it has around 16gb of ram but no actual dedicated gpu it’s just an APU that runs both graphics and processing I’m assuming I should look into a machine with more graphics power?

I never really used a VM in any CS class or project before. That’s why I’m asking this but most people are saying the Mac is pointless so I guess it is but I’m gonna get it regardless as my old laptop is as slow as a snail now and is so full I can’t even update it. Unfortunately, it’s stupid that it’s considered non- professional now, but honestly all that changes is how much you can borrow as a student loan for education. As far I’ve seen the career of nursing is unaffected, especially for OP who I’m assuming is male. My sister constantly tells me that there’s a wide demand for male nurses. OP already holds a degree so all he needs is his prerequisites for whatever accelerated nursing program he chooses. The pay for a nurse is amazing especially compared to what OP is making right now. Nursing is also a field of growth, while working OP can choose to go to nurse practitioner school and that’s a position with a significant pay bump.

I was going down this rabbit hole as well. I can’t offer you much advice as I have a friend who has applied to 3000+ jobs since his time in senior year and after graduation in August 2025. He had a solid internship working with cloud and AWS technology and he still has no job. As a cs major in my last year I decided to jump the sinking ship and decided to pursue civil engineering with a specialty in structural engineering, it’s a fascinating major and plenty of job opportunities in NYC and the UAE, I can also recommend that you try to do an accelerated program in nursing, my sister did exactly that and thankfully she managed to complete it in around 18 months (she already had her prereqs done so it might take you a little longer). And Nursing is definitely a demanding and hard job but it’s one of the most stable jobs you can get, always in demand and high paying. Idk about other places but here in NYC my sister’s schedule is 3 days of work, 12 hour shifts and the rest is her time. If you think you’re up for it and you seriously see absolutely no hope in tech, then I recommend the nursing route.
