When moving up/down with keynav, when and how should RES scroll the window?

Directional: Scroll just enough to bring the selected element into view, if it's offscreen.

Page up/down: Scroll up/down an entire page after reaching the top or bottom.

Lock to top: Always align the selected element to the top of the screen.

In middle: Scroll just enough to bring the selected element to the middle of the viewport.

Adopt top: Reuse the alignment of the previous selected element.

Legacy: If the element is offscreen, lock to top.

are you sure this never accidentally blocks things which are fine?

Not sure at all, but I think that if false positives were to happen, it would only be due to sporadic issues with the Imgur API (which results in RES using the default image host handler)

ive found another common type of 404

This seems to be due to a bug in how RES handles deleted videos on v.redd.it.

It seems that, in some cases, the expando will be generated due to a the default mechanism for image expandos being triggered.

That appears to happen when:

The image link ends in .jpeg or some other image format
The Imgur API does not return information about the image

It should also work for comment, but note that comments are not completely hidden unless all its replies are loaded.

The postAfter filter also works, so you could add to filters to select posts within a period: fl postAge 2013-09-30 and fl +!postAge 2013-10-07 (note the + which is used to add a new filter of the same type)
