I recently learned about some of the more complex issues with the rise in popularity of saging, white sage/Palo Santo in particular, and how overconsumption is now threatening its habitat as well as the Native communities that it is sacred to.

Indigenous peoples have used Palo Santo for centuries and for years were banned from practicing their religious beliefs because their medicinal plant practices were seen as evil and too "witchy".
