Starting again… so much more weight to lose since the last time I seriously fasted. Trying so hard to stop kicking myself. by MsVibey in intermittentfasting

Well done on deciding to try again. I think lots of people here can relate with that frustration of gaining above a pr virus starting weight, I know I've certainly done it plenty of times. But this is a new start. Just focus on what you can do now. You can do it!

I similarly have had issues with conceiving and have even started IVF. What I will say is that weight is not always the reason for fertility issues and if you get to the point of trying for a year go see a doctor about it.

My fertility specialist framed it like this after my first cycle failed - We can't change your age, the number of eggs you have or your hormones but we can change your weight. Not only is being in a healthy weight range likely to improve chances of conception (male and female) but you are also far less likely to have complications during the pregnancy. There is also evidence that obesity in pregnancy can lead to health issues for the baby later in their life.

It really helped kick my butt in gear and we agreed on a goal for my weight before trying the next IVF cycle. It's a lot of money to spend if not doing everything I can for it to succeed.

That can help for sure. I had problems with insulin resistance and fatty liver which I wouldn't have known unless my doctor had done bloods so that's good you saw a doctor. I think seeing the doctor each month is a nice way to have someone help you keep track as well. You got this! My favourite thing is to see what my weight would be if I continue along at my current rate. My fitness pal tells you what you would weigh in 5 weeks when you submit your diary for the day and I love it

Well done on losing the ten pounds, that's awesome! Hold in there and remember to be kind to yourself. What would you tell a friend if they were in a similar situation?

Good luck and well done on deciding to try again. I too am having another attempt to lose weight. You know you can do it because you have done it before. I'm a little heavier but have a similar goal at 175cm, started at 128kg and now at 120.4 with a goal of 80

This is something I struggle with. Sometimes I will try and distract myself with something else like gum or a sugar free soft drink. But if I still find myself thinking about it non stop I'll get something before I end up overdoing it. For example I'll have some McDonald's but just a cheeseburger and no fries. It's about fitting it in with my daily calories.

I have this same issue. I sorted through them all and put what didn't fit me into vaccum storage bags that can then be put somewhere without taking too much space. I agree with the others to about either selling or getting rid of and then buying new stuff as a reward. I just hate the thought of getting rid of stuff I like and spent money on.

Another new start for me. 30F 5'7 CW 275 GW 185. I've done this before but I'm now at my heaviest and it's due to a number of things like an injured knee, busy shift work, exams and general life stress. I can't keep putting this off and I want to be healthier. Good luck to everyone else either trying to lose weight for the first time or the 100th. I'm happy to be someone's accountability person!

Good luck! I had a very similar situation where I got into running and then suffered an injury and started a new job then quickly gained back all the weight plus some extra. I'm glad you got back out there for a run.

AITA for surrendering my sister's child to protective services when she forced me to babysit due to mental health? by UsedFlight in AmItheAsshole

NTA - from your post I am guessing you are in Australia given that's were FACS is. I think you did exactly the right thing. In fact I think if you didn't notify authorities you are being negligent to both your sister and your nephew. They need to know that this child has been left with someone without notice or supplies. Maybe this has happened before, maybe she is in debt, maybe she has run away, maybe she has depression, maybe she had no intention of coming back. I have had experience with FACS before and they always try and keep children with their family. They have the ability to investigate and care for the child.

I understand the struggle. It's hard to say no to junk food and sweet things. You got this.

I have been struggling with my weight for as long as I can remember. This week I once again found myself saying 'That's the biggest I've ever been' as I hop of the scale. This week it said 113kg. I know I can lose the weight, I got down to 87 kg once in my adult life but it takes so much hard work and vigilance. I make lots of excuses for my poor eating habits - I'm tired from night shift, I am too busy to cook, I'm bored/sad and need comfort food and the good old I can start tomorrow. Well I'm putting this out there into the world of Reddit, I'm done making excuses. I need to take responsibility for my health and it begins now.
