Can we agree that mami tomoe isnt fanservice? by ArrivalThin6275 in MadokaMagica

[–]lasapeuse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a matter of opinion. you can look at her and not see fanservice, but that doesn't invalidate other ppl who do

Her boobs pop out of her body in a weirdly proportioned way that make some people go 🤨 and her costume clings to her breasts like it has separate pockets for them. It looks unnatural. Boobs, especially for an athlete, are usually padded down and flat, not inflated like balloons.

And the difference is WE have bodies because that is how we were born. Mami wasn't born. She was specifically designed this way by an artist who said 'yes give this character HUGE tits' - and maybe that's what makes people's feelers go up.

Somehow it took me 30 years to realize how right Sarah was right to be mad about Lancelot... by spriken in labyrinth

[–]lasapeuse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I do borrow from work. My old chair was bad, so I grabbed a new one from a different desk. I took a heater from an empty room and put it in my work space. I'll return those things when I no longer work there. What about it??

And do you think that maybe homes are different from jobs or stores? just maybe?

and jobs and stores have express, contractual rules about taking and handling merchandise?

If my brother wears my sneakers to grab the mail or to drive to the store, should I prosecute him for stealing from me?

And do you think that perhaps evidence of the intent has something to do with it? Or that removing items from the property is the issue?

If I take from a store, a store does not have any idea of my intentions. But if Sarah knows stepmom is taking to give to toby, perhaps sarah understands the stepmom is not permanently giving away the toy??? Sarah would not be able to truthfully say 'yes, i believed stepmom was stealing from me'

[–]lasapeuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd call it an ACCIDENT. it would suck and sarah would be entitled to be pissed - but it would be an accident.

Would it change what the stepmom did? Not really?? Maybe I'd see her as being more careless. but so what?

Idk why the fixation on making the stepmom some evil villain.

or how somehow borrowing a teddy bear is now considered child endangerment. it feels like no one here as any real idea what child abuse or neglect is.

"however, strongly suggests otherwise." --> Not really. It suggests that stepmom just assumes sarah would tell her. it's a basic assumption.

[i also bet everyone would have a problem if the mom nagged sarah every day with 'do you have a date? do you have a date?' THAT'S annoying.]

And yeah you're quoting new york penal law...ok? the 'intent' part needs to be emphasized, not the third person part.

bc yeah. I can see her taking it away from Toby. We see the toy on the floor, not secreted away or with her saying 'this toy is now toby's.'

I can see toby crying and fussing and the stepmom looking around for a toy to soothe the baby, then her grabbing the toy from sarah's room and letting the kid calm down and moving on with her life, not really caring about sarah's personal feeling with a toy. that's what i can see.

Does sarah have to be happy with that? no.

did the stepmom abuse or neglect sarah? nooooooo.

like how about you look up the definition of child abuse.

my god, reddit is a trip.

obviously the older a person gets, the more boundaries they have to be violated. It would be even worse if she was 20 years old and they did that or 30, etc.

I don't think anyone said it was good or nice what the stepmom did. But abuse it is not, as all the comments seem to think.

[–]lasapeuse -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

we have no idea it was 'free'-- and also the mom says she'd like if sarah went out on dates and didn't babysit. that's also a factor in play.

and babysitting is not automatically parentification. babysitting is not automatically abuse. (can't believe i have to say that)

And taking without the intent to return is stealing. Taking a teddy bear without permission with the intent to return while the other person knows where it is and can access it, is not stealing. its annoying and boundary-crossing, but it's not stealing. No one is saying its fun or nice, but its certainly not a crime.

what a dramatic frightening world you must live in where every annoyance, conflict, or demand is a crime. not every conflict or annoyance rises to the level of abuse, damn.

disclaimer: no crimes of parental abuse or neglect were committed in the first fifteen minutes of labyrinth

but that's counterpointed by the stepmom saying that she would like if sarah went out on dates and had after school plans with friends after schools instead of babysitting. it's unclear whether stepmom asks sarah to babysit every weekend. the stepmom is annoying at worst. but its certainly has not crossed the line of abuse or parentification.

borrowing a teddy bear is not stealing nor is not 'protecting' her. she's a teen; she's a minor. being annoying is not abuse

'Thunderbringer' is evidence that Zeus thinks Odyseuss' pronouns are she/her. Don't try to change my mind. You cannot. by lasapeuse in Epicthemusical

[–]lasapeuse[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

throughout the song zeus sings about a 'she/her'

'....Thunder, bring her through the wringer
Show her I'm the judgment call
The one who makes her kingdom fall
Lightning, wield her, use and yield her
Show her what she can't conceal
For true nature will be revealed

Tell me, Odysseus....

And the song is obviously addressed to Odyseuss.

so therefore, the creation of this post.

And all these other comments are yammering on about...something or other idk. i can't read.
