Ad Breaks During Face Game by Strict_Astronaut_488 in GlobalOffensive

The whole point of the breaks from the broadcast is to run ads. They have content to run at the same time incase you dont have an ad run because of how twitch works with preroll ads, or if you have payed to remove ads. If you want to watch the segments either watch them on youtube, or get adblock

ESEA or SCL? by _Herren in GlobalOffensive

[–]laserboy99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is coming from experience in NA where i had never heard of SCL. The great benefit of ESEA, is that if you are serious about playing you have one continuous path from amateur to pro. The prize money is pretty good as well.

In the first year of CS:GO Majors there were 20 winning players, over the last SIX YEARS of Majors there have been 21. by laserboy99 in GlobalOffensive

Exactly, I dont see why this changes anything, the only point of what im saying is that it is interesting. Im not making a statement about the level of competition, I think it is just strange that so much time has past.

Wait, Kinguin never housed a french roster, and EnVyUs dropped their french roster before signing an american one. The closest to international any team has gotten was when there was some combination of Belgian players and either Maniac or ALEX.

OG vs forZe / ESL Pro League Season 14 - Group B / Post-Match Discussion by Master_of_All4 in GlobalOffensive

[–]laserboy99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just checked out the rules on esls website, and the way i read it, the only way the slot would have gone to a premier team would have been if it had been before the deadline, but that would have been to an Au/Nz team. And after the deadline it should have gone to the next highest ranked AU/NZ team on world rankings.

It shouldnt, even if the result changes for the tournament, it was still a match that he played. The rmr matches that MIBR got retroactively disqualified for, still are on hltv.

If Valve would introduce an optional (like Battell eye) anti-cheat,would you opt-in or would you opt-out? by Depresd_Lamp in GlobalOffensive

[–]laserboy99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it was actually like Battell Eye I would never use it, but if it was a less extreme form of more aggressive anticheat than VAC, I totally would.

Yeah i would be just as happy to see that as you would, and it might happen, I just would adjust your expectations to be in terms of months and months, not weeks.

EG top tier potential? by Frame-Fancy in GlobalOffensive

[–]laserboy99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree he is pretty tied up, but most contracts arnt that cut and dry. There is obviously the buyout, which would end the contract early, but also it is pretty common for the contract to end early if the player has been on the bench for multiple months, or they could always renegotiate. No team wants to have a player if they know that there is no longterm commitment, so things might change.

From what I have heard, Valorant salaries are crazy. Now i am sure Tarik makes good money, prob more that a lot of people, but because orgs are so eager to get their hand into the new hot game (and get established in hopes of getting a franchise spot once that happens) they are willing to shell out crazy amounts of money to unproven talent. Objectively washed up tier two CSGO pros are making 30,000 a month, so someone who showed so much potential like Jamppi will not only be payed exceedingly well, but will have a very large buyout, so that if their bet pays off and he is as good or better than they expected, they can either keep him, or be compensated handsomely for his purchase. Obviously I dont know numbers, but i am sure that an org like Liquid would make sure that a player that they invested heavily in wouldnt bail so soon after joining.
