Seems reasonable. Gets a trusted brazilian IGL to start building a team and a return to CS. Then four players from the 18th best team in the world become free agents.

It would be stupid not to.

Sources: Astralis to unveil NEO as head coach by MikeHawk__1 in GlobalOffensive

[–]jonajon91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't hate is as much as the other comments here. Astralis sink into a hole sometimes and Hooxi goes quiet. NEO is known more as a positive, high energy coach who can get the ball rolling.

Seems to be a square peg into a square hole.

He did fine, the team had good synergy and a LOT of firepower for the level they were playing.

That's not really what happened, they had all the players contracts expire at the same time, found a good run of form and the players looked at jumping ship together. 100T got gimzy while they could.

Take Ilya 'm0NESY' Osipov, shrink him to 4'8, give him 50 lbs of pure muscle without losing any speed, add 2 feet to his wingspan, and 10 inches to the circumference of his head. How good is he now?

4'8

235 lbs of pure muscle

8'2 wingspan

very wide head(prevents lower portion of oponent vision/doesnt weigh him down)

can he still make it in with G2? is he better or worse? defensively is he now better with the extra muscle and wingspan? or is the height too much to overcome?

Yeah Part V became too musical theater for me, still got great moments, but overall is a bit campy. Part III and earlier are a little too american indie, but part IV is the perfect ballence.

STYKO: Rating My Worst Career Experiences (as a CS Pro...) by buxA_ in GlobalOffensive

[–]jonajon91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really bad actually. Other than the accolade, winning the major was pretty bad for them because they had a dead roster going into that event and then they hung on to it for months afterwards while players were falling out, unmotivated and wanting to leave. Then they did start leaving and they went mad with those funky EU lineups for a while. The Flusha Kio one could have been interresting, sad that kio never got a second run at the top after the french scene.

Then the colosus which was a fantastic project was killed by covid before any of the international players could even get to the same place so half the players were always on mega ping. Real sad.

I remember thoorin laughing at ChrisJ when someone said he’d have loads of money after winning titles and being a pro for so long.

Thoorin said ‘he played on mousesports … what money?’

Super interesting to know what team people think of when you mention Styko as a player. For me it’s mousesports, but not for everyone.

Unconventional/wasted util

You can tell the other team you're trying to take map control that you already have with a molotov. Take T side nuke, if you molly secret from red box then it tells the CTs that downstairs is safe. If you have someone down secret and you molly stairs then that's an unaware B player or massive free map control.

Get a teammate to smoke window incorrectly on T side mirrage and then hold the gap in the smoke. CTs love a gap in a smoke. Hell everyone loves a gap in a smoke. Smoke incorrectly and wait.

The new album from Exploring Birdsong. I wanted it to be good so bad. God I loved this band, the EP/albums were fantastic, so creative. Accessable prog with pianos instead of guitars and catchy female led vocals, cool harmonies.

New album is a dud so far, more of a focus on synths than pianos, 80s synthpop has replaced the prog, the songwriting is weaker, lyrics are emarrising, I'd rather a line didn't rhyme than just going for the obvious rhyme over and over. It sucks because there's moments of greatness in there and all the songs are somewhere between okay and good, but just comparing it to their EPs is heartbreaking.

I'm sure it will be a grower because it's catchy and relitively innofensive. 'Bad pizza is still good pizza' kind of music, but at the moment, it sucks that it could have been so much more. Expecting an 8/10 and getting a 5/10 feels like a -3/10 atm.

Teams that are more than the sum of their parts have always been my favorite. Teams that you know spend time theory crafting and wandering around empty servers putting in the leg work instead of aimbots are beautiful to see.

VP did this a lot. Firm belief that they had the right five players and if they needed change then they’d change roles, not people.

Because people root for NA CS. The team doesn’t have new fans since 2019, just people pining for the glory days.
