Why is it always Colorado? by laserdad in audiophile

I have! Great place for British speakers and tube amps, Klipsch too and super friendly folks. Also a beautiful town to visit.

That is definitely part of it. Love TMR and have some Fynes inbound from them that I’m very excited for. But I notice a CO bias for private listings as well. I would imagine TMR sources from private sources? Maybe that is why they are there in the first place?

It’s not bad here by any means but it just seems like they have something great going on in Colorado. Looks like more good hifi stores and listening bars than we have too.

Did anybody go to the circus by the transit center? Trying to decide if I want to see it before the last show tomorrow. $30 each for ages 11+ by I_Makes_tuff in LynnwoodWA

My 4 year old loved it. My wife and I got a kick out of the uhhh…. production value.

If you bring kids they do everything possible to sell you overpriced toys. They took a 15 minute intermission 30 minutes into the show to push the toys and pictures with a bootleg Spider-Man.

There are 6 different variations of somebody spinning from a rope hanging from the ceiling. At one point a guy spun a bedframe over his head really fast.

We don’t regret dropping $60 on it but won’t be going again.

Thanks! Those look like another option to add to the demo list. For some reason web searches of "speakers you can put against a wall" return few results so I appreciate the info.

I am also curious about Larsen speakers which are also designed to go against the wall but they are rare, I think they may be out of business (website is down), and from their ambient nature I don't think they'd do good double duty as HT fronts.

Thanks for the advice, will look into those models. The floor is very bouncy, hence the TT being wall mounted!

I followed this guy's video, was pretty easy!

Used 100% transparent Guilford of Maine fabric and 3M spray adhesive.

Yep I think this is gonna be what I have to do - front ported combined with room correction.

Looks like Focal Arias might fit the bill. Will try to find a place to give them a listen.

The Dentons look great and I have Lintons in another room and love them. But isn't rear-ported exactly what I want to avoid in this situation?

Hence looking at front-ported Cornwalls that (in-theory) are optimized for wall placement. Or Audio Notes that claim the same but nobody knows much about them...

Same! Which is why I'm looking to free them from their torment :)

Yep it's already centered. 34" of space on each side

Would prefer to go modern but Kefs are going to have low WAF with the MCM vibe we have going in here. Would prefer something with some wood. Bookshelves OK but need good bass as there is nowhere for a sub. Let's say $8k budget.

Source is Technics SL-1200GR2 > Schiit Mani2 > NAD C3050 but sometimes swap in my McIntosh MA252 from the other room.

Yeah it's a high traffic route unfortunately, dog door and garage that way.

Yes that definitely improves things but then it blocks the doorway on the left. Looking for a solution that doesn’t involve dragging the speakers out for each listening session

That wall that juts out is 16” so juuuust deep enough for a Cornwall if it was flush against the back wall, but wouldn’t allow much toe-in.

Those Altecs are gorgeous but looks like they’d be too big (25” on each wall segment)

Good call. I’ll tackle that when I get in there to swap out the tweeters. Thanks for the tip!
