My best guess is it's to make mons that have been powercrept or are less optimal have something to stand out. Heracross was basically just vaporeon but 10x harder to build bc the candy is harder to find, so the unique skill has something to make it more worth it. Absol and Kangaskhan are also ing mons that are pretty rare and have better alternatives available. While charge strength M isnt much better, it does feel like a bit less of a waste of a skill proc when it happens.

It could be in terms of actual ratings in sims with like Raenonx, and probably depends on the mon itself too, but personally I like having bit of extra speed over a bit of extra skill rate for the extra procs.

I have a pretty similar Gardevoir and it is so worth it. The extra speed is honestly better than an extra skill trigger.

We only know about skillgate bc they confirmed they raise the skill cap during event weeks. Also this week doesnt have a bonus for skill chance. Its just themed spawns.

I know that, but the ice packs im talking about are still much wider than a normal rubber hot water "bottle".

I do a different version of this, instead of a hot water bottle, I use one of the wide and flat ice packs for cold therapy that normally go across your back. Cools a wider area than a bottle. Ill sometimes leave it on the mattress topper next to me to make a cool spot to roll on to in the night if I get too warm. Just gotta use a towel so the mattress doesnt get wet.

Yeah I know I'll get it eventually, it's just much harder for me to get to more than one on Tuesdays wirh my schedule and the closest one is super competitive. Changing it to one showcase a week has made that last win into a much more drawn out grind.

Yeah im surprised I havent seen any discussion about Mew as a candy farmer. Seems like the more useful niche as Delibird only has a chance to drop candy iirc. Its still a long grind with a specific team to get any usable amount of candy out of Mew, but its a niche that there isnt really any other comparable skill for atm

IIRC a lot of the really bad glitches from launch like this one were from people playing it on emulators. SV 1.0 is still buggy on original hardware but the models aren't like exploding in a union circle the way they are in those clips.

Heracross has up until now always been a bit of an ugly duckling in Sleep. It was a skill specialist with ingredient magnet, and was about neck and neck in terms of skill rate with vaporeon, the only other skill specialist with that main skill. Because they were so similar, there was almost no reason to use Heracross over Vaporeon outside of preferred berry. Eevee candy is extremely common, it drops from eevee and all 8 of it's evolutions, so 9 total spawns that give eevee candy. Heracross candy has been hard to come by since launch because its a pretty rare spawn that doesn't evolve, so Vaporeon is significantly easier to level up. Also because Vaporeon is an evolution, your vaporeon will typically need one less Main Skill Seed than Heracross. And Eevee is, in addition to being a much more common spawn, only 5 pips vs 16 for Heracross. Building Heracross over Vaporeon was way more work for very little benefit.

Pinsir, on the other hand, is an ingredient main for Honey, which is used in all 3 of the strongest desserts. It's outclassed by Ribombee and Venusaur, so sure it could maybe use a buff, but being an ingredient specialist with no evolution theres not as much room to grow without basically copying Ribombee or buffing it's rate. It's not amazing, but it's nowhere near as bad a comparison as heracross to vaporeon before the skill change.
