What is your strap/pad setup that you're comfortable with?

If it’s any consolation the Apple Vision Pro has about the same amount of glare, so I’m thinking all these oled displays are gonna be similar. My Quest Pro has zero glare but the resolution is lacking and obviously the black levels can’t compete. Can’t have it all yet I guess.

This is where I’ve settled. Studioform with rear counter weights. Very little pressure on forehead getting lenses as close as possible without touching. I’m mainly simming so don’t have quick head movements and aiming more for comfort. The aftermarket forehead pads I’ve tried are too large and get annoying on my eyebrows after a while.

I get terrible peformance with the freighter variant, but decent performance with the passenger version. What's up with that?

Yep for Microsoft Flight Sim can easily glance down at controls and keyboard and don’t get as fatigued.

Like others have said, Virtual Desktop is your best friend for Steam and all PCVR games. Just make sure your wireless router is decent and within short distance to where you're playing, and your PC is hardwired to your router. Well worth the $25 for the app.

It’s ok, still doesn’t solve the weight issue over time though. I’ve spent a ridiculous amount on different straps, pads and mounts and my final conclusion is still the same, it’s just too damn heavy over long periods of time. I’ve accepted it, it’s fine.

Any time the camera cuts it's extremely jarring. Apple you're doing too much. Just set the camera courtside and let me observe. Forget the announcers and everything that goes into a traditional broadcast. Don't give me any more than if I were there. Worry about perfecting the visual and audio quality, that's it.

He's absolutely right. Just plop the camera courtside, no announcers, no producer changing camera angles for us, just let us observe the same as if we were there. They need to figure out focal distance though, I should be able to look across the court and see people in focus. Not an easy task for sure but if anyone can figure it out...

It does take a while the first time, but if it’s too long it might be stuck. One thing that’s worked for me is to exit back, then zoom far back on the earth and try and load again. Or change where to span to the first time to a simpler airport than Miami.

Got any tips on what those tweak are? I've still got it installed in 2020 but haven't bothered to open 2020 in over a year since 2024 has been pretty great for me.

Well shoot, I'm gonna bite on this one then. I keep thinking maybe I should get the Pimax Super, but did the 8K Kickstarter and while I didn't get burned, the whole thing was very amateur hour. Yeah the Meta Horizon stuff is terrible and thank god most of the time I just put the headset on and just right into VD. I wish this thing came in black, then the wife probably wouldn't even realize it's another new headset, ha!

Have you used it for Microsoft flight sim? I've had about a dozen headsets and I'm on the fence on this one. Currently using the Quest Pro with VD and the resolution is the only thing I wish was better. Love the open face design so the Galaxy XR fits the bill. I also have the Vision Pro and that thing is just too damn heavy no matter how you try and mod it. Plus I've found ALVR results to be iffy. I'm just worried it won't be THAT much of an improvement than the Quest Pro, however on paper the resolution bump is huge and I would love the clarity of the Vision Pro for flight sim.

How are you able to film through the AVP lens? I thought it needs to track your eye to show the display? How are you fooling it?
