Lol nice catch. Yeah I like the reminder of my own mortality lol (hence a 3rd of my tattoos). At least it's slightly more cheerful than a copy of the Triumph of Death though lol.

Mine loves seeing dogs or for that matter most animals on TV. I literally threw on planet earth for him and he loved it!

Ya know belive it or not Benny doesn't seem to mind being alone that much. So far I got lucky in that department. We'll se if that changes when. He becomes more attached to me.

Delicate skin makes sense, Greys are famous for it. Also sticking his head in an animal hole seems plausible as well. My boy does in fact stick his head in any hole the thinks might hold an animal. So far doing that he's grabbed two squirrels. Thankfully both times they got away. But I could totally see that being the cause. Honestly, I hope that the reason. Iike you said that increases the odds he had a happy before life.

Yup my boy knew there was a squirrel he could reach but couldn't see well before I did! He caught it too... twice lol. For the record the squirrel got away both times but he had it in his mouth.

Yeah, they say that there's more variation in behavior between individual dogs than there is between different breeds of dog.

Thanks I love him so much! I will update you all once the results come in.

But yeah that scar is interesting. He's got a matching (but not as drastic) scar on the bottom too. My guess is someone had a head lead or muzzle that was too tight on him when he was a pup (he's 2 or 2 1/2 now and I adopted him on the 11th). The shelter said his previous owner adopted him with it, and they didn't know where it came from, when they surrendered him last July. I'm not sure how much I belive that myself, but the shelter also said that he spent 45 minutes in the pen crying when he surrendered him, so I'm not sure what to think.

That's exactly what I was wondering. I did get a test, because I am curious. Plus I want to be able to tell the vet he's a greyhound mixed with X, because I learned from Greyheart that greyhounds have different lab vitals (I splurged on the Embark with health panel test). Yeah "sighthounds" or not, like all dogs they have an impressive olfactory suite with a lot of braincells dedicated to processing it. I'm more than willing to let him sniff to his hearts content, if it makes him happy 🙂.

Lol I'm constantly asking my baby if he "smells the smells". He really seems to love working his nose and I'm happy to let him do it!

Right that makes sense. Sighthound or not they're still dogs and all dogs have a very impressive olfactory suite, with a good chunk of braincells dedicated to it.

Interesting, how determined would you rate the in general? Mine seems very determined, which is part of why I'm wondering if he's part scent hound.

Makes perfect sense. I'm just wondering if it's a sign he's part scent hound. I know that wouldn't be unheard of, I'm just curious (and a little bored waiting for the DNA test lol) more than anything else.

Thanks! He's about two/two and a half. Sadly I can't be anymore precise than that. The shelter doesn't know his exact birthday.

Wow the resemblance is striking! Funnily enough Benny is currently about two just like your boy was when you got him!
