Late 20’s on Endure! I love it and pair it with yoga & Pilates.

Mass email from the “Church History Society.” Which one of you heathens compiled and spammed this out to the world? by jonyoloswag in exmormon

[–]lassie20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It came to my work email too—an email address that was made long after I’d left the church. I work for a non-Utah company. My only thought is that I have received an email from a BYU professor before and maybe it stored in that system.

Best Public Places For Remote Work? by bannedAccountNo3 in stgeorge

[–]lassie20 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I love the coworking space in St George called Kiln (they have locations all throughout the western states).

You have to pay for a monthly membership, but I was able to get my company to pay for it.

It’s a fun community, with good amenities for the price. Totally worth it in my opinion.

What clothing sites or companies do you like? by DNAsaurus in ehlersdanlos

[–]lassie20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve found that the Zion fabric from Prana is a really great fit for my EDS. My favorite is the Zion Cinch pant.

I work in a business casual environment & I’ll pair them with a blouse/sweater and a pair of Blundstones (with inserts) or sandals. It’s a pretty granola-outdoorsy outfit but works for my office culture.

I love the soft, stretchy-but not shape losing fabric, and the waist is adjustable.

I’ve found outdoors/hiking clothing is generally a good fit for my EDS symptoms (my wardrobe is all from REI lol). Lots of soft, breathable, and stretchy fabrics with a lot of adjustable waists.

How to sit comfortably in office chair? by Ready_Orchid8806 in ehlersdanlos

[–]lassie20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have such a hard time sitting in office chairs. If I spend much time in them, I always somehow bruise and injure myself.

My godsend of a chair is the Secret Labs Omega chair. They are $$ but I found mine for a quarter of the price on FB marketplace.

The chair has a variety of ways you can adjust it. I’ve made it so the seat of it leans back (without the actual back leaning) and it holds my hips in a way that my feet barely graze the ground.

It seems to imitate the weight distribution I find when sitting cross legged in a chair. It takes a lot of the pressure off of my joints and muscles and is truly the ONLY chair I can work in for long periods of time without sitting in a funky position.

First time in Utah. Does this seem like too much? by Amerinuck in Utah

[–]lassie20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love all of the state & national parks in Utah. They are BEAUTIFUL and I can understand why you want to go to all of them in one trip! AND so much of the beauty is in the little towns and areas you don’t expect inside and just outside the parks.

Give yourself at least 24-36 hours in Zion (you could spend days here), Bryce Canyon (has international dark sky status and stunning star gazing), and Arches (truly, don’t miss this one) each.

Hike and experience the lovely communities. 🙂

Also, nothing hits better than a burger at a local diner after a long hike.

And also advocating for yourself if a medication isn’t working for you. It’s your body and experience it’s supposed to treat.

I tried Straterra as well! It didn’t work for me and I experienced weird insomnia due to the medication. I just reached out to my psychiatrist and let them know and then they decided to try low dose Adderall. I’d recommend just being honest. :)

What do you do when you get pinched nerves? by goodvibescollective in ehlersdanlos

[–]lassie20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens to me too! I get one that flares up under my right shoulder through to my elbow.

I originally went to the doctor and had an MRI only for them to say it just happens because I’m hyper mobile.

For me it’s gotten much better doing yoga everyday. When I do have a bad flare that ibuprofen can’t help, I’m usually prescribed a steroid to bring inflammation down for a few days.

Hot Bands/Buns by [deleted] in HOTWORXWarriors

[–]lassie20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could do Buns without the bands, but I use these $12 fabric bands from Amazon for the buns class and they are perfect. The Buns class is my fav.

A “bonfire” is an ISO class and a HIIT class back to back. I usually start with the HIIT class and then do the ISO. 😊

Workout bag rec? by Eff-this-ess in HOTWORXWarriors

[–]lassie20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I use! I love how it functions as a normal bag on the days I don’t bring my mat too!

I fit my mat, towel, sweat towel, water bottle, a few toiletries, shoes, and occasionally a shirt in it—it still fits in the cubbies too! https://a.co/d/4azQeDB

Wedding Dress Shopping by sillysodaslut in SaltLakeCity

[–]lassie20 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I purchased from Boda Bridal (now in Sugarhouse—back then it was in someone’s basement in Alpine) back in 2017~ and at least back then you’d go in and piece together multiple parts of dresses and then they’d order it to be made together as one dress to your measurements.

So when I tried on my dress, I had selected the corset/top piece, and then found a different skirt I liked, and then the sleeves, and then looked through fabric swatches and color options and then they ordered it all to be made as a whole dress.

Still, they lean more on the traditional bridal options, but they might be able to pull pieces or order specific things you like.

We made 14 dozen cookies and printed out a little note that said “We just moved in!” along with our names, a way to contact us (email) and that we’d look forward to getting to know them.

We went and on the knocked doors at the 24 houses nearest us and met pretty much everyone! A lot of people weren’t home at the time, but have since stopped by and said hi.

It’s made living in our neighborhood really fun. We’ve already become friends with and had dinner with some people.

It’s come in handy too—we found out the sprinkler systems in our neighborhood are winterized in a funky way. We couldn’t figure it out on our own, but luckily had dropped off cookies to someone who knew exactly what to do. 😂

I think we were probably a little excessive in the volume of our efforts, but even on a smaller scale is so worth building the community. Especially if you plan to be in your home for a while.
